Earth Has a Pink Purple Atmosphere

Upon leaving ESD to head to Drozana and the testing console, I noticed that environmental changes seemed to have finally caught up with poor old Earth, leaving her with a pinkish/purple atmosphere. Not sure if graphics settings had anything to do with it (I had both sliders set to medium).

I also noticed both this and green atmospheres in one of the missions (Fed Klingon war one,one where you rescue scientists from the Gorn, the final space map.)

It seems to be caused by certain FX on other ships you see (npc or player,) as every time I saw this someone used something of similar colour shortly before. It's also only visible to me from certain angles and distances, but it's definitely there.
