is it my imagination or do we got one of these every time cryptic release a new ship?
Why not? A Constitution-class ship carried the torch for this franchise as THE ship for it's first 20 years before even TNG was a dream in Gene Rodenberry's head.
But hey, we got endgame ENT era ships all around which predate the Constitution-class... Hell, they predate the FEDERATION, we got playable Species 8472 BIOSHIPS, we got other non-faction ships as playable ships.
But the notion of the original hero-ship class being playable at endgame?
ABSURD!
because we have been told no, and all the pleading on the forums wont change that otherwise we would have had one ages ago.
i could understand if this had never been answered but they have said time and again that it wont happen so let it go.
Hell no it shouldn't be let go.
Look how stupid the current ship lineup can be in what they do and don't allow. You have Ancient ENT-era ships in the varying factions that predate the Federation, and they're playable at endgame but not the Constitution. You have playable Non-Faction ships, to include most ridiculously Playable Species 8472 BIOSHIPS, on top of Herald, Dominion, Breen, etc. ships, but not the Constitution at endgame. The KDF happily flies the D-7 / K'T'Inga, yet it's counterpart the Constitution-class is nowhere to be found endgame.
You have a playable Kazon ship at endgame, THE KAZON, FFS... but NOT the original hero ship class of Star Trek, the Constitution-class.
I'm afraid I'm here to point it out again
But Feds aren't very nostalgic...if you haven't noticed they often move onto bigger and better things...I'd say it's obvious the Connie wasn't a good design...went through a complete overhaul refit after 30 so years and still didn't last, while ships like the Excelsior and the Miranda were still seen in TNG. They were better...it was more efficient to build a workhorse like the Miranda than to build a Connie.
Starfleet just isn't anywhere near as nostalgic as some players...
Obviously the CBS big wigs and the ones who worked on TNG and beyond don't have the love for a Connie some people here do...unless they have been saving it for a trump card for the 50th...we will likely never see it.
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power
Care to list those endgame ships that predates federation itself?
You know everyone can throw around empty words like this but I haven't seen any playable ship that'd made even to T5-U that could predate federation...
[no light escort NX-01 is not an endgame ship....]
[don;t take me wrong It's not an assault, but you are throwing that statement at left and right and you just made me curious which ships could you be refering to]
If you go by "canon" timeline, anything from ENT era "predates" TOS and therefore the Federation, and right off the top of my head the Kumari and D'Kyr both can be T5Ued, and the T'Varo skin can be applied to a full on T6.
Kumari were designs from ENT? good to know :P
[same for D'Kyr]
which T6 warbird can use skins from T'Varo? O.o
EDIT: major typo fixed
Malem class, both C-store and Fleet. Per the wiki, the fleet version is named Fleet T'Varo T6.
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...
