I grit my teeth to get through the doffing dullness then chat to people. I tend to space barbie much of the time, even made a channel for it. Nobody joined
Sorry to sound out of touch but, what is Barbie/collector?
Collecting ships/outfits/etc to dress up your characters all pretty/cool/etc.
(for ex: if you've ever considered buying the Science Intel ship, just so you could use it's nacelles on your Intel Cruiser? You might be a bit hooked on visual customization. Heh.)
I only dabble. I have a lot of Borg.
And a few Borged-out ships.
I focus mainly on solo PvE. I also enjoy the DOff and Admiralty systems. I do spend a fair amount of time on my characters' and BOffs' appearances, but I don't think that would quite qualify me for the space Barbie/collector option.
A question I've been wondering for a while now. I'm in a couple fairly large fleets. Both Alphas of full Armadas, with channels connecting the whole lot of them. Even with access to all of that, it's pretty much a non-starter getting any activities going. Same thing is echoed in the game at large. I see lots of players, but frankly can't figure out what they are doing. (Although at the given time I know many are grinding away at Omega)
I know we all do many different things in STO, but what is it that you spend the majority of your time logged in doing? And if you care to answer the follow up question, is it what you want to be doing, or is there something else you would rather do but can't/won't due to some issue or another.
Before DR rampaged the queues, I spent a lot of time focusing on getting Reputations done (and associated gear) through advanced queues. I originally had an intent of getting at least two Reps on each toon and all on my primaries. After the fail-quest and now the lackluster queue redevelopment, I have not been able to motivate myself to do much in queues which is a shame since I enjoyed the challenge of PuGs and the ease of getting into a good one (without worrying about being a DPS-master).
Now, I spend most of the time doing PvE solo for my too many toons since I have plenty of re-mastered stories to do in the pre-50 zone and Solanae. I am very casual and have only did a serious grind to 60 on my three primary toons (one for each faction/fraction), and I have focused on the new FEs, events, and side games like Admiralty. You can also call me a space Barbie, but only for ships.
