Annaversary event, can't even log into the game!

I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, however, I have not been able to log into STO for the last month or so. I get to the loading screen and it gets stuck there forever loading, loading, loading!

My question is, Ar the dev's going to take that into account with regard to the STO anneversary event or are they going to just say "though luck peope"....

Just wondering.

    Did you ever just try leaving it there ?
    Sometimes after a patch my game can sit on the loading screen for up to an hour or more.

    Trying letting it run its course.

    Usually it times you out after a while, then you log back in, and it works as normal.
    That's how it is for me anyway, happens almost always after a patch.

    The anniversary event, combined with a DDoS attack(on another PWE game) in the last 48 or so hours, has really put a lot of stress on the game...; I'd be very surprised if the anniversary event isn't ultimately extended by a few days(perhaps a week) in order to help alleviate matters...patience, grasshopper.... :)

    Ate you playing in full screen mode? I had that issue till I switched it to windowed.

    A suggestion...
    Unplug/Turn off your modem for 10 to 20 minutes as well as your Router.
    I was having a terrible time over the last two days and wondered if perhaps my modem was connected to a crappy IP connection.
    (doing this changes your IP address and sometimes it can be a large improvement)
    Low and behold after about ten minutes with it off, when I reconnected it to the web, my connection to the game was 100% better.
    Make sure you don't turn on your router till the modem is fully connected.
    (doesn't matter if your computer is on or off)

    First, I'll say I'm sorry you're having all these problems connecting, that does indeed suck.

    The unfortunate fact however, is that problems like what you're describing are a vast minority of the player base. That doesn't make it suck any less for you, but you can't really expect Cryptic to extend the event because you're having this unfortunate issue. If Cryptic did this for every user that had problems, no event would ever end.. ever.

    Hopefully, one of the suggestions above helps you. If it does, you can get 400 of the anniversary rewards by completing the featured mission. At 40 per day for the daily, you still have time to complete the event before the 25th. I wouldn't expect the event to be extended past that point, normally that is only done when there was a wide spread problem that effects the entire player base. And no, the DDOS attacks probably aren't going to qualify. The event only takes a few minutes a day, so I doubt they will consider that a viable reason to extend the event.

    as I always suggest with these kind of problems, do a force verify first but if that fails uninstall and reinstall the game.

    When I think about everything we've been through together,

    maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

     and if that journey takes a little longer,

    so we can do something we all believe in,

     I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.
