Hey friends, I been gone about a year due to heart surgery etc and I just returned to the game and I been wondering
I am enjoy the heck out of the new episodes and stuff and storyline and the voiceovers, but I am concerned about the future.
I am wondering, at some point we will hit the wall as far as storyline goes. How does the reboot of star trek affect the game?
what happens when we explored the delta quadrant? will CBS allow the game to evolve beyond the scope of the star trek
areas delta, beta, alpha ypsilon etc?
and I been wondering, is there any state of the game posts made? anyone can link that to me?
thanx

the delta quadrant, or delta rising. it is just another expansion -- and the players apparently loved it according to someone in cryptic, whatever the hell that was about, in any event post level 50 content has been slowed to a crawl, now you got to do doffing, and other small time things to get those levels now. i am not a fan of it, never will be.
as for scope beyond this galaxy? there was a chance to pick up in the andromeda galaxy because of the the iconians, i will let you figure that out.
Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
If it is set in the prime universe, then it will depend on what time period it takes place in. If it takes place anywhere near the time period of STO, it will almost certainly contradict STO's storyline, because the writers of the TV show aren't going to handcuff themselves by trying to following the storyline Cryptic has told post Nemesis.
So if the new TV show *is* set in the prime universe, and *is* set anywhere near STO's time period, CBS will probably just say STO is just one of the many alternate timelines in Trek, not the prime universe that the new show is in, and allow it to continue on it's merry way and do whatever it wants with no consequence.
If, however, the new show *is* set in the prime universe but is set in either the distance past or distant future(distant, in comparison to STO's time period), then it will likely have no effect on STO at all, except we may get some new planets or stories inspired by the story ideas from the new show.

Well, the story seems to be headed in a particular direction in which Time Travel is a focus thanks in part to the Krenim. Noye and the Na'kuhl are firmly planted as the new face of evil going forward with the story, as well as a potential conflict with the Sphere Builders.
Sorry to hear that you needed to go through the ordeal of having heart surgery. Hopefully everything is on the up and up for you.
There is still a of the Alpha and Beta quadrant left to explore. If you look at the galaxy map the known sectors in Alpha quadrant maybe represents 10% of the entire quadrant. The known sectors in Beta quadrant is maybe 16% - 18% of the entire quadrant. Sectors in Delta quadrant? Just a sliver. Then there's Gamma which is wide open.
There is the galactic core though. Perhaps Cryptic can devote two seasons to it's exploration as a tribute to Star Trek V - The Final Frontier. Arguably the most quintessential Star Trek movie ever made and just about everyone's favorite movie of all time across all different movie genres.
I currently look optimistic into this games future. Short after DR release I did not. But I think it showed everybody involved how far things can be pushed. Since then it got better with much less grind. This leads for some to be bored but I bet they get used to it and it’s not as we don’t get new content close to each month.
Nice part is in this game you can take it easy and enjoy yourself on risa and in story missions or you can take it hard and aim for 100k space dps. Everything in between or even both works too.
