Activate/deactivate reflecting/glowing surfaces

A while ago i knew how to do it and i deactivated some glow/reflecting fx (my AP and tetryon weapons are now matte grey/blue, the type 6 and 7 ship skin too) now i got a new grapics card and i want to reactivate those shiny fx because ships and weapons look much better but i can't remember how to.
I alteady change dthe bloom settings but that didn't change much.
