Voice acting was good.
The fights were nice.
The thing is the 'oh TRIBBLE the tholians killed a star we must hide the thing' just.... there was no token explanation why we couldn't have even tried to use the thing to fix their home star before going off to hide it on Risa. Not even a 'the tholians screwed it up but it's still dangerous.' Just a 'well that's a story for another Captain.'
It felt hamfisted and worse, lazy by virtue of it would have taken only a few added lines to explain why restarting Na'kul's sun wouldn't work. As is we just have a 'welp gotta bury it in a hole then we'll come back and apologize.' Not even a clear reason why the tholians decided to go all sunkiller on us.
I mean yes yes fine FINE it's temporal cold war stuff but I don't care because there's nothing in game explaining any of these things. How is burying the sun killing uberweapon on risa going to fix anything? Why not destroy it after fixing this mess buddy?
Then we have the temporal federation going 'well that's how the timeline must be' which has me flipping out worse. 'What, You're just going to /let/ the tholians turbo-TRIBBLE these guys over without more than just a handwave explanation? You can bet if it'd been earth or Qo'oQ you'd care, but oh well it's just these guys. Let it stay in spite of the whole ball starting due to temporal muckery.
