I am hoping that due to all the problems, you will be extending the date past the 14th of Feb. I keep getting kicked out of the game due to server issues. This is going on the second day that I haven't been able to do anything of the game.
Thanks Tinyfisted. It took two tries but worked. I am still lagging out between zones and have to log out and back in a lot but at least I got my ship back and my Omega particles.
The Dev team does not do Bug fixes, thats a different department, there is no overlap.
That really shouldn't be the case. QA should be separate, but all of the developers should be under the same head. You really want all of the people who work on a feature to be under the same boss, and able to talk to each other.
Yeah it would be bonkers to have anyone but the devs do the bug fixes. It's a nightmare just to work with someone else's code, let alone try to fix bugs in it!
I suspect azrael605 meant to say "the new content development team" does not do bug fixes. Using developer in a looser sense to include episode / art / ship / gear designers and tool / editor developers.
It can be confusing to non-developers since an artist might really be the one to fix "art bugs" like a bad model or texture. A writer fixes "text bugs," a database admin fixes DB bugs.
The key point is that people are not interchangeable widgets. A developer working on episode creation editor tools is probably not able to help with a combat engine bug. The engine developer doesn't have the experience to step in and fix a tools bug without a learning curve.
It's only on TV that a generic "scientist" is equally skilled at quantum physics, software development (from artificial intelligence to banking programs), mechanical and electrical engineering, organic chemistry and archaeology.
Good to hear that fixes are coming. Hopefully this will fix my problems also, as the last time (yesterday) I logged in after the patch I had 5 random crashes to desktop in a period of 2 hours or so. Not to mention some serious rubberbanding and lag.
Before the patch everything was fine except for occasional lag/rubberbanding, but after the patch the game become unplayable for me. So thank you for looking into it.

I was fine after the patch until around 6:30pm EST (11:30pm UTC) when I started experiencing massive rubberbanding/lag as well. From my experience, it coincides with all of the times over the past week we've been getting hit by the DDoS attacker, so I'm wondering if that was the cause. I haven't checked, yet, to see if there's any confirmation of this so it's only a guess.
Perhaps you could fix defara so it actually registers on the daily since its now stopping me in my tracks. Oh and don't wait a week to fix it.............
Why is it giving me the same maps for all my toons? Now I cant just pick it up and start over, fix the damn thing already.

Still, everyone on the art team, new content and remediation, needs to answer to the art lead. Ditto programming. And when you have an update that breaks the game for a large number of players, there's no reason not to pull people off of "new content" to help fix the issue.

Who do you pull? If it's a game engine bug then of course your game engine coders will stop working on new features to try to fix it. But there is possibly no one else on staff qualified to work on the engine. So the writers, artists, episode and tool designers can't help and might as well keep working on the next episode or ship.
I'm just glad the server upgrade fixed some things: mine runs better now without the Win8 compatablitiy enabled and the STFs seem to be running much smoother. Can even throw/chain all my sci-magic together on Borg Disconnected and it barely slows down. This is on a laptop that, until Wednesday, only has 2gb of RAM. Good Job/Brazo Zulu
Any incoming hotfixes for the game crashing? It seems to happen while in maps that have the Omega particle mini game, and mostly while just being in the Sol System or ESD.

I've had crashes at ESD, fleet mine, sector space. Seems to be all over the place and totally random.
Went to Defera (ground) to work on the Daily for the Ann. Event, and retrieving the Omega thingies don't register for the completion of the Daily. Are there other maps that are suffering from the same problem?

I had that happen to me yesterday but it was fine today.
The fix was to change map instances then do the minigame again. Press M for Map, then look down at the bottom for a pull-down list of instances. Pick one.
hi i see that there was supposed to be a hotfixes done today just to report that i still cannot select my starship and am therefore unable to complete the new FE Time & Tide due to the problem of being stuck on my shuttle on my main Fed and my main KDF Toons also need to report again that on my main Fed Toon Riddick one of my ships that is in drydock is missing as it states on my ship selector screen on ESD/Drozana & DS9 that i have 4 drydock slots available but when the drydock tab is selected it only shows 5 ships and the 1st slot is blank tried to fit 5 more ships into drydock but after the 4 are in it says that i need to purchase more slots pls pls pls try to fixe this on thursday i only want if tor the set that comes from the mission as it would take to long to catch up with the dailies which i have been forced to do on one of my grinder toons which i have never put any real workinto other than getting him to lvl 53 pls help as i relly love the mission and wanna be able to test it out on my main toon
hi i see that there was supposed to be a hotfixes done today just to report that i still cannot select my starship .....
All you need to do is go to one of the ship selector NPCs at bases and select the active ship from your list there, had that happen to one of my Fed alts. Been fine ever since.

Of course you only pull the people qualified to work on the problem.
Heck, they may not have any artists dedicated to fixing art asset problems, just the regular art team making updates as needed/their schedule permits.
The claim I was responding to was "The Dev team does not do Bug fixes, thats a different department, there is no overlap." That seems to indicate that dev and remediation are entirely different groups, and pulling someone from dev to fix a problem is something that just isn't done.
I am hoping that they resolve all of the issues with the anniversary event by post maintenance this week. I know too many people who have abandoned the anniversary event due to maps crashing on loading and other issues. I am also getting to the point where I don't want to finish it, because of the map loading crash. If it isn't fixed after Thursday's maintenance, consider me done for the anniversary stuff also, as the ship just isn't worth the hassle of the game crashing when going to zones that have Omega Particles in them to complete the daily.
I did Defera ground today and it worked fine... did you try more than one point?
I did, but I didn't get credit for it on Daily, but I logged off where the area that I was supposed to retrieve the Omega particle. When I logged back on this morning, that part of the mission finally worked.
Mind you, there were a lot of people around last night compared to this morning (it looked like I was the only one there this time around). Then again, I got credit in other zones where there were it was really crowded around the harvest points.
It could just be a hiccup, rather than a full-blown bug.

I had to commission a new ship, but it's worked fine since.

Work around: If this happens, click on the map, change instance. Some instances are bugged.
I cant ready my starship, the one I was on before the patch, its there I just cant use it because I was forced onto a shuttle, how did this happen for the second patch running???? the work around that was used last time seems tio have been "fixed" so it cant be used! would anyone from cryptic like to comment, is this an anniversary bug or not?
