Turn off the pop up message "X has aquired Y!"

As the title implies I am trying to turn off the messages that fly across the screen that says "Player X has aquired Ship Y" especally at this time when a new lock box is released and it seams everyone and their uncle has got a new ship!

I have tried looking through the options but can't see anything that would toggle such messages on or off, does anyone know where to look or if it is possible to turn these messages off?

you can turn those off. I can't seem to remember where though. maybe if you look in the chat settings...I want to say its in there

Push that little black triangle below your map, you'll see a drop down menu, select notification.

There you can turn off any fly-in messages.

I will try that next time I log on. I wasn't aware those could be turned off too

OMG Thank you. Those are ridiculous during events, just non-stop.

you can also rearrange the HUD to make them appear at the edge and not in the middle.
