A few teasers from my [RSE] series of missions: the Capital District on Rator III...

Looking out into the city from the podium in front of the Senate chamber.

Did you check what's the limit of props per map? Hopefully a high one, but better to know beforehand before you run into a wall that ruins your plans. Happened to me once :(

A suburb of Roma Nova? *golf clap* I assume this takes place *a bit* eariler, than the current STO stardate?

Yeah. I looked them up--can't tell you off the top of my head, but the most restrictive is "buildings per map", so I'm using objects wherever possible--things like building blocks & platforms are in both lists.

It's supposed to be the capital district of the capital city. Not as grandiose as I'd like, but... c'est la vie.
Timeline wise... Game-start (Jan 2409), same as the other tutorial missions. I took a queue from an NPC line in "Mine Enemy" where one of the miners mentions "Sela's glittering palaces on Rator", so, at the very least, the RSE Capital is well established and economically successful.

iirc the most of the romulan arc predates the other tutorials and kinda catches up timeline wise. Still, given the limited tools and doodads the foundry offers, I think you did a hell of a job

also ifn ya care alt+f12 hides the UI for screenies

Romulan Tutorial intro is captioned "January 2409, two weeks before the attack on Vega Colony", so, at the very least, those two start right around the same time. KDF tutorial is ambivalent, but can be reasonably assumed to be roughly the same.

Nicely done! As a Republic player, I apprecite your efforts in creating a city I can attack

In all seriousness though, that's some awesome work. I'll have to run one of my KDF-side fellows through there when you've got something uploaded publicly.

Also, LOL to Tovan Khev being a contact there. Now Imperial players can enjoy his ramblings, too!

Well in absolute fairness the Imperial romulans have the same problem as the republic when building, resource issues and a lot of things on their plate, except they don't even have klingons/feds to mooch off of for help. Sela is doubtlessly unhappy that there is no grand palace, but it is what it is.The city is a reflection of the Empire. Make the Empire strong and the city will eventually grow grand as your ambitions.

Now I'm mad that I haven't powered my KDF toon through yet... but as a Reman, it'd be a bit awkward for her... do you plan to make this available for Fed aligned, or is it going to stay KDF?

I originally did not intend to make it available for Fed. In part because:

    1-My RSE character is KDF, while my RR is Fed-aligned (personal preference, naturally);
2- the RSE-KDF alliance makes sense given the Sela-Duras-J'mpok connection (which is alluded to blatantly pointed out in the mission); and
3-the KDF-Rom uniforms are great at emulating the upper-ranked RSE uniforms.

...That's not even mentioning the number of slots duplicate missions would take up.

But I might be convinced reconsider my position if the public response warrants it.

As a roleplayer, I'm going to say that it'll make it damned hard for me to play these mission as a Reman... I might get past that just to play this mission, though... maybe. Depends on how hardcore I wind up with that toon.

I have been trying to take care to keep non-Romulans in mind while writing. A Reman (or RW history enthusiant), for example, would thoroughly appreciate the way that any Romulan subjects--including yours--have the potential to "earn" citizenship with all the rights and privileges that all Romulans have... perhaps even a Reman vice-proconsul and Zeta Reticulan senator.

I am working on an update, implementing some feedback I've received... so you might want to hold of for a couple of days to get the greatest effect.

Update published. Details here. It doesn't have the map shown above--I'm not quite happy with it yet--but a smaller section of the city is included in this update.

@nickcastleton Lots of Foundation blocks... staggered at 0.5 (X or Z, depending on direction) and 0.35 Y. You could also use the city wall's stairs, and block off the "wall" part of it with whatever buildings, blocks, and walls you're going to use... It'd be quicker than making the stairs from scratch, but IDK if the "cover" would be visually convincing.

haha didn't realize they were just foundation blocks you did a good job concealing that. :D thank for letting me know anyway.
