at one point there was like a dozen instances on ANDORIA... A location that is a ghost town otherwise.
That's why they should make stuff we can do and explore on the open worlds... also winter event on Andoria would be awesome instead of the Q's wonderland. The wonderland is just so freakin cheesy.
Cheesy is kind of the point since Q's purpose is to mess with our heads.
There-in lies the problem. They made Q something of a joke, kinda like the Voyager writers did. I miss the more malevolent Q. The one that forced our encounter with the borg and forced us to really re-evaluate ourselves.
Because why have fun when we can be pseudo-intellectual TRIBBLE! Trekkies: Condescension through a lack of understanding of our favorite show!
Wrong Q. Q Jr. never did that stuff. He just annoyed people.
Oh...you're bringing back the Omega particle event. A fan-favorite you say?
Nawp, Omega Event is definitely an actual fan favorite, people have been wanting it back for a long time. Not like the Elachi Alert "fan favorite", where I've never once heard anyone actually asking for that.
I like the upgrades, but not really a fan of the grinding it takes to make them. I'd be more enthused if it didn't require grinding out the 3 separate colors of particles. The game shouldn't feel like a chore and it tends to feel that way when they design things like this.

Im not going to bother with the particle mini game this year, and depending on the stats i may not bother with the event ship grind, since i have the annorax so im set with a "T6 Krenim sci ship".
I do agree a game should never feel like a chore or work, but alas cryptic and PWE have turned this game into just that a 7 day a week job or a daily chore depending on how long you stay logged in.
It takes appx 30 minutes a day to get enough for an upgrade. It is a chore. However the reward is worth it. You just have to decide how many kits you want. 30 for a half hour a day 60 for an hour etc. I'm leaning towards a more easygoing 30 this year. I made around 50 last year. It does get a bit maddening after a while.
Captain Jean-Luc Picard: "We think we've come so far. Torture of heretics, burning of witches, it's all ancient history. Then - before you can blink an eye - suddenly it threatens to start all over again."
"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."
Simply from a time standpoint, if they give us the choice to earn the Qmendations (or whatever they'll be calling them) by either doing the Omega Particle chase or the box game at the Academy, I'll run the box game.
Get the daily mish and either:
A. Travel all over the place for Omega particles, which with the galaxy map now rather large it takes a bit of time and I'd likely only be able to TW to one location. So there would be minutes of travel time between actually running the Guita... I mean Omega game and the minute or so it takes to do the collecting. Maybe 10-15 minutes (or more) per daily if you get shafted and have to run all over the place, which happened to me a lot last year.
or
B. Beam back to the Academy and play Whack a Q and be done in like 2 minutes, if that
Tough choice (not really) but yeah, Whack a Q will win every time. If the only way I can get the new event currency is to chase Omega particles around, then fine. I want the ship, I'll get the ship, but I won't like HOW I get the ship.
If I decide to get crafting kits, then I will obviously chase down the Omega particles. However, considering I've only used 2 of the ones I crafted last year and don't see myself actually upgrading anything in the near future, I doubt I will.
Hello. My name is iamynaught and I am an altaholic.
My Klingon has an active "party patrol" quest since the last event - It will feel good to finally get rid of that

"No. Men do not roar. Women roar. Then they hurl heavy objects... and claw at you." -Worf, son of Mogh
"A filthy, mangy beast, but in its bony breast beat the heart of a warrior" - "faithful" (...) "but ever-ready to follow the call of the wild." - Martok, about a Targ
"That pig smelled horrid. A sweet-sour, extremely pungent odor. I showered and showered, and it took me a week to get rid of it!" - Robert Justman, appreciating Emmy-Lou
Last year the latency caused by all the mini gaming killed it for me. I still played but with constant frustration at the mouse locking, skipping or missing a particle. This really needs to be addressed.

They did say last summer that all future event ships will be account-wide unlock, so it stands to reason this includes the anniversary event. They already retired its currency.
So where do I go to see what the freebies are and when they're available?

Always useful. Even if it's not right now then later when without a doubt a new specialization is released.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

What happens if you've already filled all specializations?
Also when's the event going to start and is it going to be something I can actually do instead of the clusterflop that was trying to race around an ice track (twitch movement is not my strong suit.)

I thought that was Neelix's job.
The upgrade kits we could make with them were the fan-favorite, but that minigame...I'd rather not.
Looking forward to the new episode and ship though.

Here is where the free stuff will show up.
What can you say, they are working according to there clocks, you will just have to wait till Noon central.

Been there, done that and never a good time. Hopefully you have good backups.
Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.
