Token to Change Character Race

Hello.

I know this topic has been mentioned before, but I would like to push it further if I can.

Firstly I would like to explain how I ended up here to post this topic; I have played Star Trek Online ever since launch, I have a lifetime subscription and I do love this game. Although after about a year or so of playing I took a break until Legacy of Romulus was released when I returned to the game. Naturally I wanted to create a Romulan character, but I was not sure if I should create a normal Romulan or a Liberated Borg - since major features of the game had changed since I last played, I inquired with a friend of mine who knew the game better than I did, and he unwittingly told me that the Lib Borg has the traits of the parent race, which was not the case. So I created a Lib Borg Romulan and played for quite a while, got very attached to my character and sunk a considerable amount of money into that specific character.

After a while I took another break from STO and having just returned, found that more features, namely Traits, had changed. After fully reviewing Romulan vs Lib Borg Romulan, I quite deeply regret creating a Lib Borg Romulan instead of a normal Romulan.

While some may argue "just make a new character" I am not the sort of person who enjoys having multiple characters, and considering the amount of money I have spent on this character, not to mention how I am a sentimental old git who gets attached to his characters, I just cannot make a new character to "replace" the one in question.

So I went and sent in a ticket to PW asking if a change of my character's race would be possible, even offering to pay in Zen for the service if required. Their response was that as only Support Staff they were unable to help me and they directed me here to make a topic about my issue. So here I am. I also sent a response to that message asking if I could speak with someone who could deal with my issue, and they responded with this most unsatisfactory response:

"Hello Joshua,

Thank you for getting back to us.

Unfortunately, Customer Service doesn't have a phone support. You may create a post on our official forum so that our moderators can take at look it and forward it to our developers for any consideration in the future updates."

So in that case, if there are any moderators reading this, I would highly appreciate it if you would contact me.

But for the future I personally feel that PW should add in the ability, for a certain amount of Zen, to change your character's race. I can understand why some would object to this, but you have to consider individuals like me who created a character without full knowledge of how traits work, and/or if the traits system changes in the future so as to make someone regret creating their character as a certain race, when they could have taken another race which has traits more suited to their character's focus.

I am sure such a system would not be hard to implement, simply on the Character Selections Screen you can click a button next to your characters name, similar to the "Rename Character" button where you pay a sum of Zen, then it takes you to what is effectively the character creation screen minus the choice of Faction (and perhaps Profession), you then create your character with the race and appearance you wish; then after finishing it updates your character, then you can log in with your new race, but you will keep everything else your character had.
