Hey guys. Im curious about those zippy builds in Ker'rat. What Skills/Abilities do I need to have/use to be like that.
Whats your "cruising speed" (just cycling between abilities) and whats your max (hitting like All the speed buttons)?
Just cycling A2d and EptE Im anywhere between 146-169 impulse with a Max at around 335 impulse for a few seconds.

Omega 1, EptE 1, OSS3, reduced cooldown on evasive maneuvers (10-20 seconds), pilot team 1, clean getaway 1, aux2bat 1, thrill seeker, delta rep engine trait, engine power at 125 (70) on a Baltim, works pretty good for both attacking and getting away.
I'm sure you can get up to 500 (normal speed)/1000 ("used all" speed) but thats too complicated to me.

For example, my "cruising speed" is just over 100 (snail), and that's with EPtE1 cycling 100% of the time. Evasive will put me into the low 200s, and full impulse somewhere north of 250.
Of course, I have ZERO points in Driver Coil skills - nor do I invest anything in the higher-level Engineering skills that affect performance. I'm more concerned with turn rate so I can lock an ISO cannon shot on one of you as you flee from my FBP.
The irony is that I spent a great deal of time flying escorts Fed-side - but that was pre-DR and all the Pilot madness. Back then, a good cruising speed was in the upper 100 range. It made it possible to line up your shots and get off a meaningful number of cycles before flying past the target.
Now? You guys come at me so fast you barely have time to concentrate any firepower. And, of course, I'm doing everything possible to make it harder for you by:
And before you all harp on me for using the "noob" FBP skill, ask yourself what would YOU do in my position? Try to TBR you to death for that split second you're within a 5KM radius? Puhleeeezzzz

That's what I like about FBP: It never misses.
By contrast, I rolled my pre-DR Fed toon into Ker'rat just to see how truly out of balance things had become. I was flying the once mighty Hirogen Hunter escort - great ship for its time - and sporting Fleet Elite Polarons (Acc x2, Dmg x2). I then did a little jousting with my good pal SylarXT. I watched as the damage floaters read "miss, miss, miss" over and over again. I literally couldn't land more than ~10% of my shots on him.
THAT's what the insane speedster phenomenon has brought to this game - players that are nearly impossible to hit with anything less than an Acc x4 weapon.

Its...interesting..Im still learning..Given my fastest is around 200 impulse (continuous),its and interesting challenge just staying in a speedsters rear arc.But fun none the less :P

1. Swapped my engine type to a Fleet Advanced Hyper with [Spd]x3 mod.
2. Slotted the Advanced Engines trait.
3. Changed my power levels so that I put 100% into Aux first and then EVERYTHING else into Engines.
Net result is I now cruise around at 185-200 by cycling EPtE1 and Aux2Damp1 continuously in my keybind. Can I keep up with the Pilot ships? Not really. But I can outrun almost everyone else, and with the Pilot ships I can at least present them with a reasonably speedy target, one that's a bit harder to line-up for that mega-buffed strafing run (especially with Evasive activated).
And, of course, if they *do* get me in their cross hairs, they often regret pulling the trigger when I quickly pop my Prtg-boosted FBP3.

Unless its Vex or Qwhip with the Pilot Bird torpedo destroyer..That are just awesome..Tho I dont run the Fleet Hyper engines..I just run the Omega engines with the set...Seems to do the same thing...Only with a 2 min kenetic debuff ability
BTW's...FBP is gonna be even stronger in 2 weeks with season 11.5 (thats before the trait :P)

Kinetic debuff? You mean Gravitic Anchor? Because I'm not seeing anything else in the Set Powers description in the Wiki. If you have "special knowledge," do tell!
Also, you say FBP is getting a *boost* in 11.5? Everyone keeps saying it's going to get nerfed and that my FBP "noob" build is doomed. Boy will they be surprised!
As for Vex and Qwhip, haven't fought my fleetie Q yet, but Vex I've taken down on occasion in Arena (it was a group effort) and once solo (though in his defense he was flying an experimental all-energy wep build at the time). But I came close with his "primary" PvP build, the one with the mix of energy/torps. Got him to "Zahl" but came just short of finishing him off. Next time...

Yea..Gravitic anchor..which is a fancy name for -25 kenetic Rez :P
Yea..FBP got a boost..On Holodeck with the same build (I only run FBP 1) I went from 1x or 1.1x to 1.4x or 1.5x.
Also If you add the stratagist Secondary and the reflect from the shield mastery, its gonna be 'funny.'

I dont like. Better I wait for T6 Wells too...and then have a look at the awesome 4pc timeship setbonus
I have the sneaking suspicion ..due to the mandatory LTC/Intel tac...these might be more than a little squishyin PVP..Kinda depends on the remain 2 boff seats (assuming theres a commander science)
