On 12/16 around 7:20am I selected 3 emails to be deleted, double checked the selection and (I could have sworn) I hit delete selected. Instead of the 3 selected being deleted my most recent return from the exchange was deleted, a Hunter Escort box which had ended it's auction time.
I was under the impression that items deleted in mails went back to the owner's inventory so I didn't think much of it until after a couple minutes I checked the "retrieve Tab" and my inventory and found no ship box.
I contacted customer support described what happened. They said they could find no record of the email being deleted and refused to assist. I reiterated the details and double checked to see if being an Exchange returned email would have affected this. They said no and refuse to assist further.
I was surprised they couldn't look at my character and say "Well he had it here, there's no record of it being sold, no record of him deleting it and he no longer has it so logic would state it disappeared under strange circumstances, lets give it back."
My question is do we have something we can do on our end should something like this occur to document things to get a better resolution than this? I'm out 100 million EC and the ship I bought it with and would like to know for future reference should this happen again.
Thoughts? Tips? Was thinking I could document my mails and such prior to deletion outside of the obvious emptying my emails prior to deleting any of them.
