    so far science ship is 2 for 2. i think the scienve ship might be the one for me

    well looks like the escrot won for the science offiver because i survied just as well but did more damage then the science ship

    Tac ships will do more than sci. Its hard to overcome 2 extra guns backed by gun damage boosting skills. However at max level sci ships do respectable damage with sci skills like gravity well and tractor repulsors. Ive honestly found I do the most damage in a tac ship that has a ltcmdr sci and 4 sci slots, vs a sci ship (even a tac heavy one like dyson). But at lower levels you just don't have damage dealing sci skills to make up for the lost firepower.
