RIP KDF and PvP 2014-07-17 Season 9.5 - Death by Dev
Don't let them promote you. Don't let them transfer you. Don't let them do anything that takes you off the bridge of that ship, because while you're there... you can make a difference.
-Captain James T. Kirk
My character Tsin'xing
1) Just how stupid are they, according to STO thinking? They're the only species (including the aliens who are under the Romulan banner) who are told how to dock with ESD Every. Single. Time. that they drop from warp into the Sol System. Did I mention, Every. Single. Time?
2) Every other species has multiple ship interiors, and can post trophies (although, Klingons don't seem to be able to hang the heads of their vanquished foes on the wall)... but, those stupid Romulans only have one interior, which is the same for every ship they've got!
Speaking of ship interiors:
1) The NX (Enterprise) doesn't have its own interior?
2) Still kind of boggling that the plethora of other ships that can be acquired (other than Fed / KDF / even Rom) are limited to a bridge *only*! (Yeah, the freighter is an exception - but, really, it's just one long bridge!
3) Every Federation ship I've ever seen (in ST canon) comes with a hangar deck and at least one shuttle!
4) The interior of the TOS bridge / decks - while small - is incredibly well put together... however, it doesn't go along with the blueprints that have been accepted as canon since about the 1970's ... and, again, no access to the hangar! Since the shuttlecraft is part of the package - we should be able to at least walk through a shuttle bay, and see our shuttle - right?
5) Even NCC-1701 was designed for saucer separation (again - blueprints accepted as canon)... just because we didn't *see* it happen until ST:TNG Ep. 1, doesn't mean it wasn't done elsewhere in the TOS universe!
eh - there's more... but, I've got more than a small hunch that it'll be ignored, just like the previous bullets..
Yeah, the Romulan issues annoy me... there's another. They can't do Tribble Genetic Engineering through duty officers past the Basic (from their bridge or a fleet starbase). The higher tiers don't unlock with Science Commendation Rank like they do for KDF/Fed.
Haven't heard of any issues with items disappearing when the listing expires. Unless...
The only thing I can think of is that you make sure you are at a mail terminal when you get a listing that expires. If you simply open your mail and then delete it, you lose the item. The ONLY way to actually collect the item is from a mail terminal.
Losing faith in humanity, one person at a time.
I'm impressed they managed to do as many interiors as they did. Maybe you should volunteer your 3d modelling skills and send them new Romulan interiors? Because I honestly am impressed that they put this much work into a game that's not super popular on the MMO rankings...
At first I thought the Romulan bridge was kind of lazy but then I discovered they had other decks on the Romulan interior and I was no longer annoyed at it because I thought engineering and the lounge were impressive. I'm fine with it being the same interior - Romulan isn't going to be super popular with players other than long time Star Trek fans who happen to like Romulans.
Hell, I'm just happy to have Denise Crosby in it. Ironic that she was dissatisfied with her earliest role in Star Trek and went on to be one of the longstanding Trek people such that she's willing to work doing voiceover for STO.
Now if only I weren't a pro-democracy Romulan part of Spock's Romulan terror cell... That's really my only complaint - Tal Shiar are unconvincingly too evil (I haven't finished the plot though) and the RR is unconvincingly too plebeian.
"At the end of the movie, I really care about what happens to the characters … but I’m pretty much missing Gene Roddenberry in J.J.’s interpretation … and at the end of the day, that’s just not OK for me." - Levar Burton
"[OrciTrek] doesn’t have the story heart that the best of my Star Trek had," - William Shatner
"It doesn’t have that element that made … Gene Roddenberry‘s ‘Star Trek,’ what it was." - George Takei
"The Gene Roddenberry years, when stories might play with questions of science, ideals or philosophy, have been replaced by stories reduced to loud and colorful action." - Roger Ebert
Wait, ships have an interior?.... I kid, I kid. I only visit the interior if a quest requires me too .
Which is the point - it's nearly completely superfluous to gameplay which is why I was impressed that there was more than a bridge. Sometimes I walk around or sit on the bridge while I'm chatting in Fleet chat and waiting for a PvE queue - but other than that it's nice to see they chose to include some form of interior. But I would rather them dedicate time to new quests/features/gameplay elements rather than making sure I have more Romulan interiors.
However, you should have been able to turn on the EMH in sickbay since they already had Robert Picardo work for them. Certainly after the Federation heard about the remarkable evolution of Voyager's EMH every Federation Captain wanted to make sure they had that EMH. :-)
