Admiralty cards for specific ship classes made purchasable in fleet stores.

Hi great work on the Admiralty system. However i can't speak for everyone only myself, but my KDF and Rom's are getting their butts kicked with the KDF campaign when it comes to science ships and no pass tokens. I know the system can reward ship cards and completing the campaigns give 2 nice ships. But as Roms and KDF fall short in the science ship area and i don't have the means to obtain lockbox or lobi ships on all my characters, are there any plans to introduce a small number of very rare or ultra rare ship cards that can be purchased from Fleet stores ?. I know designing and building a ship to put into game is a long process and hard work, this would be an easier alternative for Cryptic. And help flesh out the Admiralty system for KDF and Roms struggling with science requirements.

Thanks

Would be nice but that would work against their main goal: selling ships and making mad $.

I am fine with KDF, the bop have descent sci stats and we still have the Draguas, the Varanus, the Voquv, the Karhfi and the Dysons as sci ships. But indeed something must be done for the Romulans.

One good way should be to add permanents admiralty cards to lock box or a daily mission with 24h admiralty cards.

I would imagine we'll see cards coming down the pipeline eventually, but I suspect they'll be for special events rather than available in any store. Kinda like the hoverboard giveaway on BttF Day.

T6 Connie Admiralty Card on the First of April FTW, baby!!!

My Rom and Fed characters are both Tac, and if it wasn't for the 2 event ships I have (Samsar and last years Breen) I wouldn't be able to even get 70 Sci points with 3 ships.

I wouldn't mind too much but the vast amount of A.S.S tasks seem to be SCI heavy (or at least heavier)

I think the tasks themselves are pretty evenly distributed, but the event modifiers have a heavy science slant. At least the Sci modifiers that are out there are higher numbers on average than Tac or Eng. Tac +10, Eng +20, Sci +100. That's how it feels to me, anyways.

As my fleets tend to lack cruisers, I usually have harder times filling the missions that ask for Eng - especially the 150/75/75 VR if it gets the +50 Eng event - which seems to happen to me like once a week per toon I have running Admiralty.

Meanwhile, I've noticed that Admiralty does tend to be about as "equally split" as anything powered by an RNG could be - there's days I sit stuck behind 3x big Eng missions, and days that I can farm out the entire Dyson & Vesta fleets knocking out heavy-duty Sci request missions...

Which is, supposedly, the "incentive" to go shopping all over the C-store and buy lots and lots of "not your main classes ships"... I'm starting to stockpile my stipend to get me the T3 Excelsior just so I have a ship that says "ignores +/- ENG"...
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

I do think they have a SCI slant too but it's happened a few times where I've had all 5 missions that show up on one page all high in SCI without even considering the modifiers, turn to my Klingon page and 3 or more there have also been heavy on SCI, I've pointed it out to my girlfriend each time and she sits across from me playing it on her PC. I think she's getting pissed cause I've complained about it so much lol :p

I believe the developers mentioned both that they don't expect Admirality cards to be a big incentive for buying ships, and that they are considering how to release admirality cards in different ways.

Maybe some Fleet store cards would be an option. But it seems more likely that it will be more speciality related events.

I wonder how quickly they introduce new Tour of Duties.

I realized that last night when doing the maths and wondering why I was still coming up short. Then I LoLed and sent my Danube out to Klingon space anyway because a 10% chance is better than the 0% that comes from me not doing it.

I think unique ships card rewards for finishing reputations would be cool, c-store packs maybe not so much...

There are some cheap-ish (2-3mil EC or so) mirror science ships with ~50 SCI on the exchange. Nothing huge, but it doesn't cost hundreds of millions either.

That would help a lot, so thanks for the info :)

Note that those "cheap-ish 2-3mil EC" ships used to sell for 75-150k for the longest time.

I would rather the Admiralty cards come from REP stores rather than fleet stores as it seems more appropriate to get ships of our allies to help on missions than ships of the fleet which would be faction limited.

Still waiting to be able to use forum titles

There are six kling and six rom mirror ship available in the exchange.....two of these are sci.....just go buy them now and dry dock them once you activate the ship cards. Did this and more the first day....this game is not that hard to beat.

That's why some of us stocked up T5 ships when Admiralty was first announced :P

Prices on "consolation prize" ships are slowly going down though. We probably won't see a mirror ship for 75-150k anymore, but it's not unreasonable to think they will slowly drift down to 500-750k once most players start filling up their rosters.

That's a good idea. You could have both permanent cards (costs as much as a space equipment set item to buy) and single-use cards (relatively cheap) for the reputation store.
