What is Admiral Quinn's species?

While it doesn't actually matter for anything since Quinn never seems to have based his identity or behavior on anything but being a Starfleet officer, I can't help but be curious as to what species or combination of species you guys think Admiral Quinn may be. I have a personal theory about it, but if there is any material anywhere that says it, or a dev happens to know the official answer, I am quite curious. :)

    Found it!
“Linnea, who’s next on my round-robin of political appearances?” asked the graying Trill.
“You think any of those cadets might have dreams of getting to the admiralty and emulating an old Trill?” said Quinn with a chuckle.

So does it say anywhere he's full blooded Trill?

From what I know of Trekdom, the main possibilities are Trill, Kriosian, and human hybrid of either. I admit, his name did have me thinking he could be half human.

We do know that unlike with Klingons, Trills can apparently mate with humans without serious medical intervention; they were roughing it in "Children of Time" and Jadzia was still able to have kids, just not with Worf.

But when it comes to Quinn, I just haven't seen anything to be sure.

Because in the episode where Jadzia and Worf were trying to conceive, it was stated that serious medical intervention would be required. However, in "Children of Time," with the hypothetical descendents of the crew that crashed on that world, we do see Trill-human hybrids (Yedrin Dax was such a hybrid).

Easy way for a Trill to have a human name: he took his spouse's name. Or he deed polled it because he had a rare Trill name that in English was spelt Willleadyoutoyourdeath so it was probably wise to change it if he wanted to go into command.

VanZyl and Tigan (Ezri's original family name before she was joined) also happen to be human family names, though not as common as Quinn. Cosmic coincidence, I guess.
This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.

It's sad in such a fictional universe deemed very progressive and inclusive that without that fantastically racist "planet of Hats" caricature, we can't tell what species a certain character is. =(

What if Quinn is also a Trill name?

Trill. There is no mention of him being a hybrid with any other species, and setting as the article even mentioned his ongoing treatment for a heart condition, I'd say it is pretty thorough.

The heart condition bit is apparently sourced to a mission. That said, I am not sure if there is a conclusive source in game or the Path to 2409 stating that he is Trill (versus, say, Kriosian) or ruling out his being a hybrid. While a wiki is a great starting point, it isn't an authoritative primary source.

How about someone go "ask" him. Go to ESD, target him, click on the Info button. That'll tell you anyone's race. As the game engine only allows for hybrid races by using "alien," if it says "Trill" I'd go with that for the final answer.

ETA: BTW, gulberat, what is your theory?

My personal suspicion is Trill-human hybrid, though I'm not sure that hybrids of any type can show up in a tool tip. Can you get a "bio" to pop up on an NPC comparable to the one on a BOFF?

If imagine the field for a bio is in the database, but the question is, did anyone fill it in?

I believe one of the blogs referred to him as a Trill, but I can't remember which one ...
