I realise we're only two episodes in, but with that in mind...

Season 11: in which we get back to being explorers! Seeking out new life and new civilisations!

So... ah lets just put Tholians in there (again). And then the Mirror Universe and Terrans (again). Bet EP3 will be Borg (again)

You're missing a golden opportunity to do fab stuff here. How about a planet of killer sharks, that fly rather than swim? Or a planet of Siamese Twins in the midst of a civil war (twin vs twin).

Use your imaginations! Go wild! Have fun with it! PLEASE. If you're not having fun, then we won't be either

Whilst I admit the OP may have had a few too many sparkles on his cornflakes this morning, I cannot disagree that with the idea of exploration comes the idea of imagination.
The team could do so much with it.
