Previously: Captain Luke Minhere and his crew were trapped in an anomaly formed by a black hole orbiting another black hole. They were able to free the ship, but at the cost of power, and the warp drive being disabled. They worked for days to get power back online, only to gain visuals and find themselves in the sights of a Borg Cube.
"Sir, we have visuals, and our sensors are now up, we have something...." Officer Wheler said, but stopped suddenly even as visuals came up.
Luke looked up at the screen, then sat in his captain's chair, in disbelief.
"Last warning. We are Borg, prepare to be boarded. You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile."
"Shield's up!" Luke called, "Red alert!"

"Shield's holding captain," Pac called, the ship was shaking from the force of the torpedoes striking the protective shields.
"Keep them rotating, do we have full impulse yet?" Luke asked Jason, who was in engineering.
"Getting there, but we cannot boot yet. Also, captain, Monica is still outside of the ship."
Luke's frown deepened. A single escort against a Borg Cube was a very dangerous situation. A single escort that is already crippled did not stand a a chance. Of course he was Captain Minhere, known for standing a chance when there was no chance. They could not even go to impulse until Monica reentered the ship.
"Hurry up Monica," Brin called over the short wave com. It allowed the two to speak without interfering with the ships coms.
Monica nodded, but knew Brin could not see her. She simply was not in the mood to respond by voice. It was a slow process, gravity boot down, gravity boot up, always insuring she had one boot on the ship so that she did not slip into an orbit around the Black Wolf.
The Escort shook hard as some kind of beam actually struck the hull. That either meant the Borg were depleting the shields sufficiently enough to get through, or they calculated the frequency and timed it perfect. The next beam lit up her area as it dissipated over the shield, meaning they did not destroy it yet.
As Monica entered the hatch, Brin closed it tight. It took a moment for the seal to fully close, and Monica restored atmosphere.
"That was too close," Brin said, removing the helmet of his space suit.
"We have visuals now, that is what counts," Monica said, removing her own suit.
Brin smiled as he watched Monica strip to her skin tight under armor, a protective weave that assisted in keeping her from freezing. He caught himself looking too long, and quickly changed his gaze before Monica caught him.
"We better get to stations, once we get our uniforms back on," Monica announced.
"Of course," Brin replied, catching one more glimpse as she walked out of the air lock room.
"All personnel are back in, sir," Pac called to Luke.
"And impulse?"
"Back up, now," Pac replied with a smile.
"Full impulse, begin to target one section of the cube. We want to cut in deep enough to send them a present, wrapped in a torpedo," Luke said, returning the smile to Pac.
Now he was beginning to feel more in his element.
