NX Class reboot. Go fly the original ship. the Akira. Far more beautiful a ship than the NX.
Why do people want a ship that is a stripped to the bones Akira. The Akira is Tier 6, and the NX resembles this ship fairly closely as it ripped off this ships core design. Regardless of whether Enterprise wants you to think the Akira was designed in honour of the NX. The Akira came 1st in 1996's ST. First Contact 5 years before Enterprise aired
I could see an NX retrofit as a T3, possibly. But not any higher without them making it too OP for what it is supposed to be. It was a prototype starship with prototype equipment. But really, if the Constitution is a T2, the NX retrofit should not be more than a T2.

I think the argument wether or not something is too old to be Twhatever is a moot point. STO has no logical progression of ship tiers. Let people have what they like at endgame, limiting it artificially makes absolutely no sense and doesn't bring any kind of logic back into the theme park we have. Besides, the T6 ship would probably only be alled "light escort" or similiar to begin with and simply offer the NX skin (which is also the T1 "light escort", Aquarius is T5, so T6 would probably be Callisto - why not simply let it have Aquarius and NX skins?)

Considering that the "NX" in STO is a replica built with 25th Century technology and materials, I consider the "It's too old!" argument against to be a moot point. That, and the fact that STO is more of a Trek theme park catering to fans of every stripe.
It's only fair that the NX gets a T6 version, after all, each of the 'main character' ships have all received a T6 upgrade and/or Fleet upgrades.
You'd think that the ship that started Star Trek would've been the first to have a T5/6 versions before any of the other main ships.
The Enterprise has always been the focal point of Star Trek as the flag ship for each of the different series except Voyager.
Regardless of Cryptic using STO lore as an excuse, the NX and Constitution deserve T6 versions, they were still Enterprises of their respective times, it should always be the first ship to get special treatment.

I assume you are referring to the Constitution here, otherwise I'd be a little grumply right now

Well, the Excelsior has to be the most longstanding Starfleet design...despite how bizarre that is, but like the difference between the Equinox and the Rhode Island, designs can stay and technology can be improved.
Not going to happen, Cryptic already has an agreement with them for NO T6 Constitition and I believe that included Archers NX Enterprise. Stop asking for something they've been told they can't do. And no, I wouldn't use it anyway, that ships supposed to be in the Smithsonian, they're not going to take it out of the museum just to upgrade it to modern standards, she was small and cramped anyway.

Hey, who else thinks it would be really cool for Cryptic to revamp the NX-Class, maybe give it a unique shield system that, instead of shields, is polarized hull plating? Maybe have some phase cannons and photonic torpedoes as available weapons? Does anyone else like the idea of flying a T6 NX with polarized hull plating instead of shields?
Polarized hull plating is a precursor to shielding technology. Structural integrity of the vessel being increased by introducing an energy current through the hull and supposedly making it more resistant to damage. As a sci fi invention I like this. It feels suitably archaic because it precedes the self contained bubble that protects "modern" ships. Any force acting on a polarized vessel is still directly affecting the hull and potentially internal structures so it's going to be more labour intensive to repair. A "damaged" sheild is an energy field that can be restored/replenished and until breached internal damage is mitigated. One of the charms of Enterprise was the down time the poor NX endured after the beatings it took (and the fact it wasn't invincible and took beatings).
stobg2015's idea is pretty neat (explorer turned fighter) but I'd consider the NX more a knifeboat that joined a galactic gun fight. It was throughly outclassed by almost anything it encountered out there but maybe that was the point. Eventually Q would warn Picard of , "wonders and monsters, getting punched in the nose and staying home (terribly paraphrased)" but in Archer's time it was the reality not hyperbole.
I'd like to see ships inspired by this part of the canon universe; Like a Robinson class pilot ship rather than ones named after mythological figures. I like seeing canon designs being "modernized" by the art department. I don't need the museum pieces in space but please show me ships that have those lovely, clean lines that honour their lineage. KDF and Romulan design principles aren't the same but I appreciate nods to tradition.

The NX-01 Enterprise was Earth's first "real" starship by galactic standards, and certainly using a ship with the NX-class' original specifications in 2410 makes about as much sense as the US Navy putting Old Ironsides (the 220-year-old USS Constitution) out on active duty.
However, it seems that what people here are asking for is a replica made with up-to-date technology--duranium/tritanium hull instead of titanium, modern shields and weapons and warp core, etc. In that case, the limiting factor is not the technology, but rather the form factor--e.g. the chassis can not physically mount a warp core as proportionally large as the Defiant's, etc.
I don't like the nx so I don't personally care, but for the people that like the ship. Well I'd like them to be able to use their favorite ship end game whatever that ship may be. As was stated earlier in the thread the tiers don't make sense anyway and everyone is flying around in alien ship's so immersion is out the door as a counter argument as well.
I always thought it should have been that something benign in humans caused Klingons to look human, like an allergic reaction and they were incited to war.
The NX class shouldn't get a T6 treatment. I would agree the ship could have a retrofit that could get it to t3. I would personally love to see the enterprise era gear more available. We already have the uniform, but the real M.A.C.O. gear, uniforms, rifles, stun batons, phase pistols (both single and double) and the NX class interior would be great.

That would be A LOT of work, as in, WAY more work that what they, or any other company, would bother doing.
Never gonna happen.

Which is precisely one of the main reasons I like it. Far more plausible than the rest of Trek's interiors.
Uhm how about no
Agreed
All I will say is... a ship that can go 121ly in 4 days is well ahead of the curve... That is one heck of a Warp 5 engine...

No disastrous first contact with the Klingons...
