I know how Cryptic has been on a exclusivity trend on events but I think I got a solution that might make both the players who didn't have a chance or were unable to get the ships and Cryptic somewhat happy. I agree that event ships should be exclusive, but what about the consoles? (Starship Traits are different thing all together.)
My idea is that we can put previous years ship consoles into the event store so new players or players who didn't get the ship a chance to complete the console set. Set up the price for the consoles that use both holiday commodities and either dilithium or lobi. (i.e. for the Breen consoles use up 100 of each of common ornaments, 50 uncommon ones and 5 Lobi or 8,500 Dilithium.)
Is this a good compromise? Does it need a bit more work? Why doesn't glue stick to the inside of the bottle? I would like the people's input AND devs input as well.
My name is supposed to be GhostWolf but I mistyped and I'm stuck with this name...

The other question isn't as easily answered, but this isn't the only example of console sets that have harder/impossible to get pieces. Even this summer's ship, the Nandi, had a link to the D'Kora, a harder to get LB ship, and the Samsar console is part of the Command Ships' Console Set. So something like this might be nice to have, but where should they draw the line if they do it?
Again, the glue question was easier.
as long as the parts of the set are made available it doesn't matter much what store they use.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.
I must have not seen your posts well at least this idea is a bit more visible than just seeing over and over again "bring back older ships ◴_◶"
Made even worse, because now they SEE it every time they go into the event ship store, you miss one and now you see it all the time, just out of reach because Cryptic are a bunch of jerks. and it is not like they have not just put some in the lobi or fleet store before or anything, they have, just do that, player has to work WAY harder to get it then the event player did, but can still access it.
I have played soo many other games where event items such as this are a one time deal, you seem to think that this is something unique to sto.
sure I would be sore if I was a new player and could not get these ships but i would just have to resign myself to the fact that I was not there to get it when it was available.
when I see some players post that they haven't got these ships and then see they have been playing since say 2011 I think WTF.

The consoles for the set could very well be put in the Lobi store, I have no problem with that. For the ships, well they're gone now. If I wasn't around four years ago I don't get the ships, it's a weird entitlement people have to always be able to get anything all the time and at the same time complain about Cryptic not rewarding people playing all the time and giving away ships to people being inactive.

I have them all, the event ships that is, but I agree, throw them in the lobi store with the price based on their tier and let them be account unlock on purchase. But not immediately after the release of the ship. Think of it as a second production run or salvage run.
When the summer event starts, last winter's event ship goes in the lobi store. 6 month waiting period for not participating in the event.
I would also say letting the consoles be available seperately for 200 lobi but as a single character unlock would be fine with me.
70's Kid: Yeah, so when I was 6, I got this awesome, limited run Batmobile with Rockets that fire out!
90's Kid: Really, bet it was tacky and plastic.
70's Kid: I'll show you a photo of my collection with it in. It's actually a die-cast model, and still in good nick.
Shows a close-up photo of said Batmobile.
90's Kid: Oh wow! I want one.
70's Kid: Ha ha! Good luck. They're no longer made, and as I said, limited!
90's Kid: I want one......now!
70's Kid: Sorry, you can't, it's as simple as that, and mines locked up in my safe, which is surrounded by a moat, with sharks that have frikkin lasers on their heads!
90's Kid: BUT THAT'S SO NOT FAIR THAT YOU GOT ONE THEN WHEN I WAS NOT AROUND!!! I WANT THAT COMPANY TO MAKE ME ONE NOW!
70's Kid: Look, firstly, it was before your time! Secondly, they aren't available anymore, and thirdly.....DUDE!! Seriously!!??
This is basically how people are sounding because they weren't around the ship was first given out or they couldn't be bothered to try for it when it actually was! Seriously, it's as bad as the little girl in Addams Family Values that threw a tantrum over getting the wrong kind of Barbie! You get what you're given (despite having to run a 3 minute race). END OF!!
The entitlement is strong from this community!
And the next morning the 90's kid has sobered up and realizes he can just buy one off eBay. Your point?
As I've said before, if we could farm extras and sell them to future generations, making them unavailable would serve a purpose (=encouraging players to farm more of them). As it is, it serves no purpose.
No, it's not. For one thing, at this point the admiralty card is the most valuable piece, not the console. Also possibly the trait. But most importantly, a compromise doesn't serve any purpose, just like removing the ships in the first place served no purpose.
It costs the company nothing to keep the ships available. Keeping the ships available would encourage players to play more, to get additional ships. Therefore the ships should be kept available.
How true? I was ROFL when I was reading this. If you keep whining you will get IT? I would keep on whining louder. Experience in STO has gone either way.
New Player: Hey, anyone know where the 4th console for the command pack I just spent money on is?
Cryptic: LOL n3wb we pwned j00!
Exactly. I'm not bothering doing a script for this one. But it's like a person who's picked a working JVC multi-stacking Stereo System. It works perfectly fine, but the guy reads up that there used to be Subwoofer unit, but alas, they stopped making them a decade ago, and no-one has one anywhere in the world! I refuse to swear in a forum, but IT HAPPENS and it's not life threatening! Make the best of what you can get hold of that's available!
Is the Command Pack not T6, the current tier?
Does not work, because
1. that toy has likely been remade, or something very similar has been made for a much cheaper price, they remake stuff with slight differences ALL the time.
2. If it was a limited run that the only difference was that i can fire rockets....okay, give us the ship but not the console, few people both using the consoles, and just want teh ship.
3. if that toy could make more money, you BET they would make more
