I am getting a whole boatload of these private messages lately. I'm added as a 'friend', then I'm PM'd with the above message (///< wtsitem .(0m>$15.92/100M EC+10M,22keys=$16.42) then subsequently removed from said users friend list. It's becoming annoying. I thought it was just through social zones, but I've just had one come up in a mission that I'm doing on my own.
Someone sort this out please. It's becoming increasingly annoying.

Gold seller spam is getting really annoying in game now, it's not just in zone chats now, it's moving to PM's and mail too!
But on the other hand I guess it shows the game must be doing well if these idiots see it as a valid place to try and get income from. A dead game would get ignored by them.

To the OP: Here is a novel solution, don't accept friend requests from people you don't know!
As if it took a brain surgeon...
If that was the case, he would have created a new account to do it. Look at his post count. You think he'd risk having that banned? Perhaps a little more careful thought before flinging accusations, hmm?
And, back on topic, yes I am getting these messages too
they can restrict chat and mail to a certain higher level to make it more difficult but that only hurts genuine players.
they have a fishing screener in place but the more stuff they input to be searched for the more genuine messages that are likely to be blocked.
all they can really do at the end of the day is tell you to ignore these messages as they are a scam.
you can block messages from unknown senders and block all invites but you risk missing out on stuff you might want if you do.
at least now we are able to select and delete multiple mails it will be easier to get rid of the garbage.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.
They only exist because high end rare items or things bought with real money are expensive (some ridiculously so) and people don't want to grind or gamble for them.
If the game had legit ways to buy things like the Annorax or other box ships it would mean people would not go looking for less reputable sources.
Someone else jumping to the incorrect conclusion here. Typical. I don't accept these invites. I get an invite, and before I have chance to react, I automatically get a PM from the user that has sent me that invite. I can equally ignore/decline the request, yet I still get the PM. It's almost as if I'm automatically accepting the requests (which I didn't think was possible) because after they've came, and said their piece, I get a chat window message that states I have been removed from their friends list (even though I never actually accepted it in the first place).
I get the mail ones too, though haven't had them recently. The ones I'm on about at the moment though, they're in-game chat messages/requests. Nothing to do with the typical mail system (which doesn't work for me anyway).
With regard to accounts, surely (in many cases) said accounts are linked to an IP address? Ban the account, ban the IP. That should at least limit the number of people that are able to return.
Or is there any other reason to bother with the friend request?
Lastly OP in your subject line you provided the address to a gold site on these forums for everyone to see, it does not matter your intentions, but you are validing to the gold sellers their campain to reach players in the game is working.
Good job for letting the North Koreans I mean gold sellers win!

Should alleviate it a little bit.
Cool your jets there, chumley. There's no cause to get all excited just because you disagree.
And as far as "reported", it's sad how we have become a society of informants, running to report someone to authority at the drop of a hat, like a little Quisling.
FIGHT THE GOLD FARMERS.
