What does this mean?

in Star Trek Online General Discussion
"These frigate pets are unlocked in their stores listed below as long as you own the Breen Sarr Theln Carrier" Do you not need to own the breen frigate to get it as a pet?

    Yes you need to own the frigate to be able to buy the pet.

    It may also mean the pets are only usable on the Sarr Theln.​​

    Yes, the post is a little misleading.

    What they intend to tell you is that the Frigate pets are available for the Sarr Theln Carrier. They're trying to tell you that you won't see them listed in the store unless you own the Sarr Theln.

    You also need to own the Plesh Brek Raider, they could have made it far less confusing by saying 'as long as you own both the Breen Sarr Theln Carrier as well as the Breen Plesh Brek Heavy Raider." Not sure why they worded it like that.

    Like Maina, My interpretation is that you need the Plesh and either the Sarr OR Rezreth to buy the elite Pleshes.

    And you are absolutely right. The original statement quoted by the OP though, does not explain that as accurately as you just did.

    Exactly. My reply was just a way they could have worded that particular sentence to be less misleading. The correct information is clearly laid out in other places, but that particular sentence is misleading and confusing for the exact reason you gave.

    Breen Plesh Brek Raiders

    These frigate pets are unlocked in their stores listed below as long as you own the Breen Sarr Theln Carrier or Breen Rezreth Dreadnought Cruiser and Breen Plesh Brek Raider starships.

    The Plesh Brek raiders can be equipped on the Breen Rezreth Dreadnought Cruiser. But you need to have unlocked the Plesh Brek and Sarr Theln playable ships from past winter events. You also need to have the Plesh Brek, Sarr Theln, and Rezreth Dreadnought in your active ship roster (not dry dock) before you can purchase any version of the Plesh Brek Frigate hangar pets. Simply having the ships unlocked in your event rep store isn't enough. You need to claim each ship and unpack them from the boxes.

    This of course means if you weren't here the last couple of winter events to get 1 or both of those starships you won't ever be able to get the Plesh Brek hangar pets because the older breen ships from past winter events have been retired. The only way to do it would be to have slotted the projects last year and finish them this year.
