1. Your ship decloaks whenever the dam npc pop up.
2. Cut scenes in the middle of battle (i.e borg discontinue.)
3. Moron noobs who dun read the mission objectives n only think about shooting npcs (counterpoints)
The team chat breaking when going in with a premade team. Easy enough to fix by swapping the active channel to something and then back to team but its very annoying.
If you are reading this you have stopped reading my post and are now reading my signature.
Well it happens all the time, so its more of a general irk, but I was doing r&d during the last couple of mins during mirror whilst nothing was happening.
"If this will be our end, then I will have them make SUCH an end as to be worthy of rememberance! Out of torpedos you say?! Find me the ferengi!".
It would have to be other players not reading the mission objective and trying to Old School Kirk it but fighting like Nu-Kirk and end up on the wrong end of a punch in the face.
Crystal Entity being my biggest STF bug bare. No where in the objective does it say anything about engaging the Tholians. Its pretty simple 5 mins to kill 1 Crystal Entity, yet you still have noobs going after the Tholians eating up the optional timer and penalising not only them, but everyone else by costing us marks. Or the CE energy blast. The dam thing couldn't be more advertised that its going to shoot you but noobs taking it straight to the face.
Also started to notice a bad habit from players in Infected Normal runs where 1 player who hasn't the DPS to barely pop a generator decides he wants to solo a side causing optional failure.
Got to agree that the one player splitting off to take a side alone he cann't do, or even worse someone poping a gen early an no one noticing till the pack is starting to get close (not as bad since alot of the time you can burst down the other three an then the main gen before, but with a lower group can get tight.) are my favorite annoyances. Withthe CE there is so many ways of evading the pulse it is not funny, such as the pilot spec roll, ablative absorb from shield healing, the absorb from the drace for impact are just afew of them. Though i do wish we would get better reasons to run the stfs than just marks for dil converts, like some good rewards you can get on chance (i would love a crystaline entity hanger-pet from CE, or even some revamps of the old reps to add some new gear an sets to them to make these more desirable to run.

1. 100% agree and I can't really figure out a head cannon reason I would have to de-cloak to talk to my Science bridge officer.
2. They get old and annoying, but I understand the reason they are there.
3. Not really a problem with the STF.
My #1 hatred in many STFs, especially new ones is the time gates. Anything with a timer where you have to do X for y minutes is a dumb idea and lazy mission creation. I understand they think they are doing this to control how fast we earn rewards, but in reality they are just ensuring that the stf will be a ghost land.
I apologize to the Devs who are forced to put these into their missions. I'm sorry your hard work goes to waste because of lame ideas from management.

I have to agree it would be nice to have a way of circumventing them in some way, like with the mirror invasion stf having an upper limit or third objective you could activate if you had enough done (rifts closed, base health, and defenses activated) to speed up the stf would have been nice. Something to shoot for an work towards than just feeling you needed nothing more than wait out the timer, though an increase in the rewards given for doing the objective, or additional different rewards for meeting certain mile-stones for the objectives would work too.
Idiots who try to take charge and dictate to everyone without giving a damn good reason but diss on others in a public pug and that idiot is using a ship that barely scratches the paint of the weakest npc ships while everyone else is going doing the required things for sucess and easily handling everything thrown at them.
Time gates is my biggest thing. I get that they want you to play for x time or whatever but if players are stomping through npcs in mere seconds no amount of timers will fix that. Just add mores ruff to shoot to earn xp or extra objectives to try for but don't just have us sit around for 5 mins doing nothing. And I know that some elite team could barrel through in seconds so you want a timer, but just give them more chances to get rewards but adding more npcs or something. It rewards them for being so efficient and it also acts as something to entice players to improve their game.
Lazy TRIBBLE in the ground borg rounds who expect people who have never done it before to be able to work out the little puzzles and then choose to belittle them openly in the middle of a fight.
Too few play them at the moment. With the introduction of the Admiralty the grind in this game is over and all that should remain is fun and challenges. 5-man PvE is best this game has to offer in that department.

Annoying about STF's? Their transformation to DPS grind fests. I know, this again, but I felt that difficulty could have been added in a different way than 694747393759392748946357659947e121234567890098765432211234567890 hull points to each ship.

Yeah i agree just a buff to the stats of the ships/enemies in a stf, with minor tweak is a good way to yet increase difficulty artificially, but in the end that is a static boost that many just don't find engaging or challenging. I would have rather seen them rewrk an update the methods, tactics, and available abilities for them to use, imagine if they starting using some of the spec abilities against us.
Though even adding new mechanics to some of the enemies would have been nice, such as for the Borg implementing a offensive/defensive adaption mechanic that improves them over time. Such as a shield pen buff that improves their shield penetration against the specific type of shield the main-target they have is using, and which builds over time as they deal damage learning which frequency they are using as a offensive mechanic for them. While for a defensive it would be interesting if they did something like gaining a stacking shield hardness buff that improves their shields against the highest damage dealing target's weapon type, while they shift their shield's frequency to block the beam more efficiently (so would make torpedoes more valuable against Borg kinda.). If you than added that certain core abilities of the three core careers can either remove the effect (not my favorite as it would nullify the difficulty), or reduce the effect by a certain amount per application of the ability's use. Add in something like against hanger/separation pets the Borg can apply a stacking assimilate buff on them to take control of them, and turning them against the team unless something like tactical team or such is used to fight off the assimilation. Not my personal creation but merely a mix-mashing of several shown across the forums that would be interesting to see used, and would fit the Borg atleast well.
The most irritating thing for me by far is the fact that my ship can't do more than one thing at a time, like when you're supposed to close the rifts in Counterpoint but you can't because the enemy fires at you. Why the hell can't my ship do two things at once?? And why does my ship have to do a complete stop before scanning in half the game? You can't get Data to scan while LaForge is at the helm?? Makes no sense.

ISA instances that only last one minute and 45 seconds. I'm sorry, but they are just b o r i n g. Enter instances of ISA for a friggin challenge, not to watch BFAW spammers and their cookie-cutter builds display how OP BFAW remains.
Well, what did you expect? ISA isn't real endgame content. It's easymode content that people stick to because ISE was removed to improve the quality of the game, mainly because the layout of play is particularly good for a DPS Masturbatorium. Give us the Elites back so we can get those damn costume unlocks, and maybe this will be less of an issue. It should be no surprise that top-end ships mow through easymode content.
Agreed, an isE and the rest of the missing Elite STF would be most welcome. Problem is just that I somehow doubt that we can expect a simple transfer where HSE/HGE critter values are taken as reference.
Current 75k builds would cut through those missions with a delay of 3 minutes over advanced while every “18k creative sci player for fun and challenge” would be an obstacle for most teams to carry.
The DPS checks I encounter in those few elite space PvE I play center around 30-50k DPS/player. Don't meet them? -> game over!

I suspect that even if they did introduce a new ISE, the DPS'ers would still play ISA, as they've gotten VERY used to ISA being the benchmark mission for DPS results.
Besides, it's not like there is NO Elite content in the game - and whilst they don't ignore it entirely, it's fairly rare that anyone posts about the DPS numbers they acheived from playing HSE for example.
May I ask you something? What is a “DPSer” in your definition? Do you have a subjectively defined number here in mind? Or are all peeps who use a copy FAW to deliver damage in your definition DPSer?
Please explain to me.

That other game, from that other company, you know, the one we're not supposed to mention around here? They didn't nerf dungeon raids down to something which can be done successfully on a smartphone in under two minutes while we wait for the combo we ordered to be put into the paper bag. When I first started playing STO, the Borg STFs had both a space and a ground component. They took 45 minutes to an hour to complete. When one was with a competent team. Which used to exist in PUG Land. Before the STFs got rendered down into the Facebook Browser Editions we have now. Which the Devs tried to fix first by adding EPtE to the Spheres and Probes. Which a lot of players then complained about. Next, the Devs added a bazillion HP to the NPCs and turned the Optionals into Mandatorys. Which did not work either. Along with this, they reduced the rewards from the STFs to the point where they were (and still are, BTW) worthless.
I stopped playing any of the STFs due to the fact they are not an efficient way to spend my game time. They are not an enjoyable way to do so either. If I play on Normal, I am surrounded by the people who are watching Glee reruns while spamming the Spacebar for one minute, 45 seconds. If I play on Advanced, I surrounded by people in rainbow failboats who have a DPS of about one thousand or so. Who insist on calling me 'n00b' while they attempt to solo the right side.
I say this: Drop all of the STFs from the game. Every. Last. One. Pull them and replace them with some sort of Battlezone.

I actually agree. Whilst I do still occasionally play them I, more often than not, wind up reminding myself why I shouldn't bother - namely that they've become a 'don't bring anything other than BFAW and high DPS' fest. Which is rubbish.
I have a lot of fun with my cannon builds as of late in the STF. 60K pug DPS delivered with cannons is probably nothing to boast about but ISA and all the other advanced matches do show some room for contributions besides fire at will.
The objective to remove space critters remains dominant in most PvE over all difficulty settings in this game, not only queued maps, so what’s your problem with DPS in general? I have a hard time getting that but would like to understand.

I think the problem some people have with DPS obsession is that it's making content become a joke and it's also making any alternative builds or tactics utterly pointless. It's all very well being able to do 100K DPS but does it really make you a better player or give you a better gaming experience. There's no challenge to anything once you go above say 40-50k as anything dies in seconds. Whereas with science tricks I can have quite a bit of fun and also still succeed in various optionals and queues. Also a lot of newer players won't be able to compete with the way power creep is going so if everything goes up and up where does it end?

Hm, I don’t see it that way. Sure that is something which may appear to the naked eye but when I bring a 50k+ build to an advanced map where 4 other players emit 10k- I defiantly get challenging and rewarding game experience out of it while most likely the player with the lowest DPS agrees on an especially easy run.
Sure, advanced maps become trivial in 50k+ groups. But in a pug with huge discrepancies between the team-members the encountered challenge is a massive matter of perspective.
