Class specific Consoles

I have a suggestion.

How about if the Devs just specific which class bought Sci-Fleetconsoles to get back the nerfed SCI-Crit-Bonusses

So this would be a fair way to get Classroles back in Game.

So you could restore the sense of different professional classes ever again.

To be concrete:
Sci for SCI-Class bonus
Tech for themselves
TACs don't need changes yet

On the other side a Class Specific Shop with upon idea filled items is eventually the easiest way^^

I would be happy if you think about it !!!!!
Ich write that becourse I like the new change that have been separated for space and ground the Traits.

I'm not sure what it is you're suggesting. Sci consoles should only go on Science Vessels? Sci consoles can only be used by Science Captains?

The problem with your suggestion (assuming I at least get the gist of it) as I see it is that some types of consoles are clearly not dedicated to the supposed role of the ship itself. For example, Science has the consoles that boost shield hit points, but that's clearly intended as a defensive, tanky type bonus and Cruisers are supposed to be the dedicated tank ships. Other consoles are pretty obviously meant to be uniformly useful to all playstyles.

My vote is no, also.. but, a big but!, if by having a science captain, you have a bonus of science consoles, for example, count me in.. (same for other roles)

If the idea is to support roles... I can assume then that all defensive and threat-enhancing consoles would be moved to engineering. And all damage enhancing consoles would be moved to tactical. So no more shield consoles, or embassy consoles.

    Fun.

Yes, bonuses applied to consoles depending on your character class; that would be interesting.
A Sci captain getting some small, special additional bonus from science consoles.
A Eng captain, the same from engineering consoles.
I think there are enough synergies and bonuses for Tac captains.

That won't work either. A cruiser is often tanky enough without consoles, especially with an engineer captain. A tac ship is likely to need a shield buff or hull resist more than a cruiser or sci ship.

What makes a little more sense is giving Science captains bonuses to make up for the lower DPS from all the nerfs they've made to science because of its use by Tactical captains. Similar to shield modifiers: a tactical captain gets 0.9 of the listed value from a particle gens console, an engineer gets 1.0 and a science captain gets 1.1. But everyone still gets 1.0 from tac consoles since tac captains are overpowered enough already.

Ok, so each type of console gets an extra effect that's only accessible under a specific condition. I think I could get behind that, but I think it would be better to depend on ship class rather than character career. All 3 careers have their own beneficial effects that can help a ship perform its intended role. Engineers have stronger defenses, making their cruisers even harder to destroy, but damage output is still essential for a tank to perform its role and Tactical captains have their own tools to assist in this.

Of course, based on your initial post that "TACs don't need changes yet" this would not go over well, especially if it was dependent on character career as you suggest. It would certainly not be fair to add new effects to 2 careers but not the third, and Science Vessels and Cruisers already have special effects unique to them while Escorts don't really have anything in particular. And this is from the perspective of someone who pretty much only plays Engineer in a Cruiser.

Ich write that becourse I like the new change that have been separated for space and ground the Traits.

    Let's think:
    - Sci and Eng get access to console which combines attack pattern alpha and go down fighting
    - Tac and Eng get access to console which grants sensor analyses
    - Tac and Sci get access to console which grant nadeon inversion
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
