Hip hip hooray!

Just wanted to post appreciation for the new ground/space trait system. One of the best improvements to the game that I have seen.

Meh; if only they expanded out the Reputation Space and Ground slots as well. We're 32 Rep traits in for EACH (4 space and 4 ground per Rep and 8 Reps currently) and only at most, 5 slots to choose from. At least 6 base with 7-8 via unlocks at most, or 6 base while aliens get 7 base, +1 for a max of 7 for non-aliens and 8 for aliens.

Useless rushed job? What do you want??? They gave us the ability to separate ground and space traits, and in the process, gave us more slots than we used to have, in fact, more slots than some characters had traits. So they gave us some new traits to fill the holes. If you don't like them, go buy some of the ones off the exchange. Entitled much?

It's a great qol improvement and I'm glad for it. It was always so annoying having to constantly switch active traits depending on if you were doing space or ground. Not to mention missions when you do both!

    Agreed op.

Should also be noted that is quiet cool we got a huge load of free traits. Some of em don’t look bad at all. It’s my hope that a lot of casual players who are unlikely to spend 100mil ec for such stuff get quite a boost out of it for free. Hope they make use of it in ques.

Meh. Not as awesome as the Bridge Officer Training System revamp.

    :p

Actually, it's great. Still not as great as the BO system revamp, but still pretty great.)

Never had a poblem with the old system. I just picked a couple of space and ground traits and that was good for me. When I do the Badlands battle zone, I always get a tier IV reward, with a ship with a mix of torpedoes and beams, all mk XI, XII stuff. Yeah, I really needed those extra traits.

But I admit, I am not kept back either by this change. It is good for players that PvP, so their character is optimal on ground and in space.

Funny things is that the personnal traits are better than the rep traits.

I've been after the trait split for ages now. Glad its finally here. Makes the game alot more fun. No more having to mess about swapping traits. way to go devs.

Yes, thanks to the devs for splitting the traits AND the new traits, including Operative for space and (weapon) Training for ground. Weapon training lets you use the beam type of your choice which is nicer than Plasma Specialist which only works for (surprise!) Plasma.

It's a much appreciated change and should hopefully make ground more attractive because you don't need to mess about swapping traits just to be any good.
So that should definitely be good for the game.

It's good also as it was something everyone was asking for so its great to know they actually listen to us sometimes!

So, the Devs do hear us after all. Listening to your customers is not as painful as you thought, is it? This change is something needed from the very start of the Trait system. I'm glad it is finally here. Thank you, Cryptic.

Now, about those other things we brought up the last time... lol.

Yeah, I was so pleased to see this.

I can say this; It will keep me in the game for longer periods of time.

Sometimes I would just log out rather then have to change my traits over (for the 10th time that day).
Would sometimes see a callout for a ground tour in one of the channels, and want to join, but the thought of changing those traits over "again" would totally kill my motivation.
At least this way it will keep me in game longer. Rather then being frustrated, and log out, I may just stick around for another half hour/hour.

It will be good for their metrics if you ask me, I cant help but feel there were others like me who would just get fed up, and log out "early".
This way, I can set it once, and not have to worry about it, until I want to make some minor adjustments and what not.

    This made me so happy.
Thank You for this. So good.

About the only thing about the new traits that imho could have been done better is the ground +5% dmg traits to pistols, rifles and assaults... I mean, since you are mostly just using one weapon anyway, you'll just slot the trait matching your weapon, so they might as well turn it into a +5% to all energy weapons and come up with something a bit more original instead (like some boosts to melee and/or unarmed combat)...

I agree, its a good thing. My bad was forgetting about it until after I did the Adv. Mirror Event on 5 toons. I got my butt whooped bad so they do make a difference.

Nice to have some new trait that you don't have to get out of a lockbox. Old ones were feeling... old.
Well excuse me for having enormous flaws that I don't work on.

I like this new Trait set-up. I never changed mine before, so I was never great when switching between map types. Now I have more versatility.

I agree. I own so many of the lockbox traits that I am glad I don't need to switch when I change to do something. pretty happy about that.

I was thinking this too. Having all the traits slotted should give a boost to the very casual player, maybe especially on the ground. I know I only have 1 ground character and she ran always with only 1 space trait. So it's a nice boost to all.

So is that the only one whose opinion of beauty counts?

"One glance at a beholder is enough to assess its foul and otherworldly nature. A beholder’s spheroid body is covered in chitinous plates, scales, or leathery flesh. Its great bulging eye sits above a wide, toothy maw, while the smaller eyestalks that crown its body twist and turn to keep its foes in sight. A beholder channels extraordinary levels of magical power. Its central eye emits a broad field of energy that can nullify the magic of its foes, while its eye stalks blast those foes with a host of powerful effects."

I remember pretty clearly the beholder in the basic or advanced manual - mumble mumble - years ago. I always imagined it as being basically a giant floating eye. The eye would be as big as the mouth at least in that picture. I remember killing my first one too. And the horrors of the gelatinous cube. Non-sweetened.
