Besides cheap leech playing KDF-Rom offers no advantages...but does offer some downsides...besides I wasn't talking about a KDF-Rom...you said KDF was superior than Fed in every way but admiralty...you know a big reason why Feds are better at Admiralty? Because Feds have a wide array of Science ships...why is that? Because Feds actually have Science options...so umm...that means the Feds beat KDF at Science...
So no...the KDF isn't near superior in every way to Feds.
Except science ships are unpopular. So unpopular that even the most numerous faction in the game (Fed) only has access to 3 of them going on a year.
I am kinda growing partial to the "War Hero" set bonus. The not-silly one, of course. Hero of the Dominion War
Activated Ability. 2 Minute Recharge. For 20 seconds, you and your allies within 10 km gain a +15 % damage strength.
And for the Tier 6 Sovereign, based on reyan01's idea
Resistance is Not Futile
Activated Ability: 2 Minute Recharge. For 20 seconds, you and your allies gain +50 Hull Resistance and cleanse Boarding Parties, Borg Boarding Parties and are immune to holds and stuns.
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.

No...Science ships aren't unpopular, the Annorax proved that...crappy Science ships are unpopular...which is generally all Cryptic makes unless it's a lock box/r&d/doff pack ship...the only really truly good Science ship on the C-Store is the Vesta...and they probably had to make it good because of all the time and possibly money they spent on obtaining the rights.
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power
Honestly? I can't imagine this ship can be saved in its present state from the dustbin of strictly outclassed ships, given that a radical boff layout change is out of the question as people have already bought the goods, short of giving it a 2pc battlecloak set as its "Overcloak" bonus, as a CD reduction on a cloak you cannot use in a fight anyway is entirely useless.
At least if it had a battlecloak option, it would have something that distinguishes itself from the Tac Pilot, which is quite simply, the same ship, only quantitatively superior pretty much across the board. The Tac Pilot isn't merely better than the Defiant on intangible things that people could debate. It is superior in ways that can be defined in hard numbers.
A battlecloak would change this: The Defiant would have a unique feature that others don't have. It would also finally stop the whining about it once the Feds realize that even battlecloak isn't all that.
Eyep...
We SEE the Defiant cloak in battle during the show, so it is not that far of a stretch to state that the Federation would be looking into adapting the cloak technology (now that they have free access to it with the Treaty of Algeron being dead) to once again render ships invisible mid combat.
Having a cooldown reduction for cloak without the ability to use the darn thing just smacks of a disgusting lack of respect for the player and the money they spend imho. Having a Pilot Tactical escort available, which for all intents and purposes out performs the new defiant model at every turn, literally and figuratively insults the intelligent players who already purchased the pilot escort.
The new console is neat, but the Defiant's ability that set it apart has always been two fold, it is a "tough little ship" and it can Cloak.
I would suggest the following for it's T6 ability:
Defiant Subsystems::
Taking technology developed over time by Benjamin Sisko, you have mastered the Defiant Class.
When firing unenhanced torpedoes fire 2 instead of 1. Additionally if your ship is equipped with a cloaking device, you can use that cloak in battle now.
This makes the T6 Defiant a must have purchase for people using any other cloak ship for the Federation. Additionally it gives reason to have the 3pc set bonus.
If they don't want to make other Fed ships capable of battle cloaking, then they can change the wording to read:
"If your Defiant Class ship has a cloak equipped-" That would make it a uniquely Defiant ability.
