New Sub-60 Promotion: Free T6 Pathfinder, plus really nice bonuses.

My friend just got a promotional e-mail offering him a free T6 Pathfinder, 2x XP to 60, plus a complete set of gear for his captain, officers and ship every ten levels.

It's basically the same 'you don't have a L60 character yet' promotion they did with the free Andromeda.

Kinda wish I'd never hit 60 - I want free T6 iconic ships, y'know? :(

Great deal for your friend! Hope he takes advantage. I didn't get any such message, so it doesn't affect me in any meaningful way.

Gotta love how long time players get zip.
Highest tier ship we ever see in giveaways for active players is T5.

Hmm, maybe I should create a few Neverwinter characters, leave them stuck at level 10 forever, and see how much free loot PWE offers me for not supporting them.

I don't expect free $30 ships, though PWE might cause less ill-will when they do this if they also offered the people giving them money a contest with a (probably very slight) chance to win the same ship.

Each of those required a multi day long grind.

Meanwhile players who don't spend or play are rewarded t6 ships for literally doing nothing.

It can only help the game if they get roped in. Me personally, I've lost nothing and still enjoying the game. I get free promotion stuff - but never a free t6 c store. That's pretty boss.

Huh. As a new player, I hope one of those emails comes my way. I found out that a couple days before I started there was a giveway including an Excelsior ship that I missed out on. So I guess both new players and old players miss out on some things!

I bought the pathfinder 11 months ago and all 15 of my characters are level 60. And I log in almost every day still. Where's my free stuff? I think I'm doing it wrong. :p

Edit: Oh yeah! The 24th of this month will make it 2 years since I bought a lifetime sub, so I already got free stuff. But I want more free stuff. LOL :D

    I can haz cheezburger? :smirk:

Okay, how exactly is it that someone else's fortune must count as your own loss? What do I possibly lose by an absent player receiving anything for free?! There are two possible outcomes, right? One, the player is gone because they don't care about STO anymore. So they ignore the message and don't claim the ship to play. Two, the player has been gone from the game, but see the message and decide to give the game a new try with a free ship!
Let's put this in a perspective that actually impacts all of us:
More players in the game means the game lives longer. It's that simple. We should be cheering and jumping up and down when people get these messages and actually COME BACK to the game. Anything that keeps and grows the player base benefits us all.

This soon after the last T6 give away to in active players... I don't think I've ever seen an healthy MMO do that back to back so quickly.

Of course I haven't seen a MMO pull some of the lame stunts this one has either, other than SWG that is. So maybe its par for the course.

Everything important was said in the last thread. They give away plenty of free stuff this is a standard promotion that EVERYONE uses to get people to buy more stuff in the future. You idiots act like it's the first time anyone has given away free stuff.

Last couple months or so I've got 3 free T5U ships, upgrade token, T1 ship, 4 outfits, inventory slots on all toons, ship slots, spec points, extra dil, extra XP etc etc etc. All for just logging in and doing what I normally do. Somehow a single T6 ship doesn't really compare in terms of the amount of free stuff I've got by comparison.

You know... I was annoyed with the free andromeda and spec point givaway they did 3 MONTHS ago... but now another free T6 ship and so soon after the last one... Im now actually angry. This is some grade-A horse pucky...

That sucks. The funny thing is most players hate science ships. I'd personally love to try that one out.

Yeah 15 day grind for each ship vs T6 ship for not even playing?

By that logic I get free money every week. It only takes me 40 hours of work, but its still free right? Right?
I get free food and free housing. All i do is give them free money........

I wonder if that automatically excludes them from ever being able to buy the Intrepid interior, sort of like the rest of us here?

Does this mean there'll be a different Pathfinder, maybe some mirror universe variant, or an actual new science ship lineup that ports the little science pet for a new set bonus to entice those getting it free to begin spending and playing?

The Pathfinder's fleet variant is still way out of reach due to shipyard requirements as it is.

I also can't tell if Science being given away is a good thing and means more such ships incoming, or a bad thing in the sense they haven't sold as well as the rest.

Well the last one was a cruiser... so I dont think that has anything to do with it... I bet they just put the names of all the T6 ships on the wall and throw darts until they hit one...

Why did I buy a pathfinder when I could have ignored the game and given one for free? I've never seen a game give away 30 dollar items to inactives. Not that I haven't seen games try to lure people back in, but to this degree.. never. Please don't tell me that I get event ships because i'm active. The total number of my alts using event ships equals zero. I buy ships because they are better... I think I need a bit more incentive to keep spending money.

I haven't played since Jan 2014...so this bonus is a nice way to get back in to the game. Only had two lvl50.

Well active players just got several days of giveaways including 3 free T5 ships, one for each faction. And then there was the free Enterprise bundle. We got more than enough. Stop complaining or you might get nothing next time instead.

I just shrug it off and think of all the free stuff I have received by being a constant player, and all the fun I have had as well.
like the last giveaway promotion in October for example.
I estimate I have received close to $1000 worth of freebies since I started playing one way or another.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

Not that it's in any way related, but I am pretty sure some people in here would also be angry at people receiving welfare because "they didn't have to work for it like I did" pig-2.gif

amen but thats not related to give-aways.

Whats so wrong about giving stuff to people to lure them back to the game? Any harm done to you?

although there may be some scammers out there a lot of people deserve welfare for one reason or another, maybe through disability or lack of opportunity, you just need to think - there through the grace of god go I.
not that I want to get into a political debate about it.
