what exactly is a ddos ? sorry I really do not know. From the initials i imagine its a directed denial of services? as in several ppl trying to jump in at same time but are blocked
Actually, somebody has been targeting Neverwinter's server due to some beef with a DDOS. And STO runs on the same line. So it isn't accidental overflow by too many players but an actual attack by somebody trying to prevent us from getting in (well, not us as persons, you know what I mean)
My mother was an epohh and my father smelled of tulaberries
ya'll are really making a good case to buy lifetime subs! keep up the solid work cryptic! I bought my lifetime sub years ago, and I really appreciate the constant reminders that I made a wise investment with my money!
This is getting really tiresome - hire someone competent to stop the attacks. Write stronger code... do SOMETHING rather than sit back and wait for the next attack. Or, at the very least.... put STO on a different (*&^#*&%@ line so that an attack on one game doesn't collapse the whole system
Something about tribbles breeding in unused J tubes. Red shirts are on the way to clean it up. Hopefully they survive the hostile encounter with tribbles.
Its down. Also anyone been having issues with this site. Constantly finding when loading into threads ect i have to stop the browser and reload the page to get it to load, once/twice/three times. No other website i visit is doing this. Using Safari

Well, Safari isn't your best choice. Firefox has been the browser standard for a long time, so you're better off with that.

Been using Safari to use this site since launch and never had issues in the past only started the last couple of days. Also my firewall is turned off and i don't use any antivirus software as i'm on a iMac. Plus no other website gives me this issue so i'm not accepting it being a fault at my end as nothing has changed from my side

Um... "hire someone to stop the attacks"? How so. Somebody somewhere, possibly not in the US, is using multiple hijacked PCs to attack. You cannot just "stop" that. You also cannot write "stronger code" because - if a DDOS attack - it has nothing to do with STO's security, that would be akin to buying a faster car because you are always in a traffic jam.
Getting Neverwinter and STO off the same attacks may be possible and help but I wouldn't know the costs.

probably because there's eons of scripts trying to load all same time and messing up with bronzers.
I'm using MS Internet Explorer but with a heavily modifed version of d'Adblock Plus (no exeption list, redirect script to trash, etc) so I dont get stuck on that kind of website.
I'm not sure but I dont think adblock can work on safari, especialy if it's a Mac you are using, and without my dev team modifications I doudt it'll change something since more & more company are paying Adblock to let scripts & pubs pass throu.
