New Admiralty Screwed yous out ships

brew8brew8 Member Posts: 16 Arc User
First like to say i like the new Admiralty but it has a big slap in the face to all us old time players that we got rid of all your old free ships as we leveled, I know they are weak but still there ships i could be using in Admirlty, from what i get all i have to do is own ship once discharge it and we still keep it in ship list, but really want us to pay dilithum to get them back. I am not saying give to us free, it would be nice if we could, but can we change the pricesmaybe lower, or even better EC since its pointless in game anyway.

    Yes, if Cryptic was being fair to older players they'd have given all Admirals a ship token for each level so they could go back and re-purchase their older ships. Even with the Dil discount, they are still way too expensive just to re-buy for a ship card.

    There was a discount on those dilithium ships for a while, in addition to the prices on them being lowered. I am not sure if the additional discount is still in effect, but the price is still lower then it was.

    Why would you even want those ships?

    Your father was captain of a starship for twelve minutes. He saved 800 lives, including your mother's, and yours.

    I dare you to do better.

    I have a recommendation (to the developers) that might solve this issue, but it would require the implementation of 15 reward boxes and the logic to check if players needed to receive them or not.

    Most people who want the old ships back just want them for the Admiralty cards, not actually for the ships themselves. We know that it is possible to reward players with ship cards without giving the ship (achieving Tier 10 of an Admiralty campaign does this). Reward boxes with an admiralty card or a choice of admiralty cards could be created. There would need to be 15 total (one for each tier for each faction). The reward boxes would contain a choice of the admiralty cards for the ships that the player could have chosen for free at that tier.

    Now we know Cryptic doesn't have any record of what ships the players chose as they leveled up, but perhaps it doesn't matter that much, since the free ships of each tier are of approximately the same value anyway. The game could check a player's admiralty roster and see if the player has any of the cards in the box. If the player does not, reward the player with the box that offers a choice of one of those cards.

    For example;

    - Check if Character is Federation and owns the Miranda Admiralty card. If the player is Federation, but does not own the Admiralty card then provide the player with a reward box containing the Admiralty Card for the Miranda.
    - Check if the Character is Federation and owns the Admiralty Card for the Tier 2 Cruiser, Tier 2 Science Vessel or Tier 2 Escort. If the Player is federation, but does not own any of those three Admiralty cards, provide the player with a reward box with a choice of those three Admiralty cards.
    - and so on for the other tiers of ship

    This obviously would not help players who have since re-purchased the ships with Dilithium, or who purchased additional ships for Energy Credits before the Free to Play conversion, but it would provide some extra ships to the majority of players. I think this is fair, since we didn't know the Admiralty system was coming years ago.

    The miranda and nx-class have a 30m cooldown. They make for nice filler ships.
