Sometimes the bad pugs can be the awesome ones. Other times.. not so much.

"He shall be my finest warrior, this generic man who was forced upon me.
Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.
he shall be of iron will and steely sinew.
In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.
He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.
He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."

funny when I do an stf win or loose I never query the other players DPS but then I don't go in expecting to come out winning, that's half the fun of the game and to me the randomness of the team only adds to the probability of the outcome which ever way it will go but the uncertainty just adds to the fun factor regardless.

that's why so many things in life that involve random chance are so exciting to people, like Sisko explained to the wormhole aliens

Sisko: In the end, it comes down to throwing one pitch after another, and seeing what happens. With each new consequence, the game begins to take shape.
Alien Batter: And you have no idea what that shape is until it is completed?
Sisko: That's right. In fact, the game wouldn't be worth playing if we knew what was going to happen.
Jake Prophet: You value your ignorance of what is to come?
Sisko: That may be the most important thing to understand about humans. It is the unknown that defines our existence.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

indeed, this is why i do only pugs. the game is not very exciting by itself, but at least with pugs, it becomes a little bit more interesting.

In other words : I didnt choose the pug life, the pug life chose me.

PuG-Life isn't for everyone. Be either prepared for that by bringing your own Crowd Control, or just live with it.
Personally I do enjoy that uncertainty and the achievement you feel when you saved the day, or when you run into a really good PuG.

And awesome quote bobbydazlers, so fitting in this context!

Less than 1k? Wow...and here I thought the pug with two characters who couldn't break 5k...one less than 2k was bad lol.

they really need to lock dps at 30 k,maybe less..

Really? Is this how you think? So, even though I did the grind to get the things I need to be competitive in advanced/elite content, you think I should be locked? How about all the incompetent, undergeared players that come in and contribute absolutely nothing, either in dps or even decent crowd control? Maybe they should be locked out of high end content until they figure out the most basic things to do when you enter an stf. Now, I don't necessarily feel that way, but I just wanted to use that as an example to make you see how stupid that comment is. What the hell is wrong with people today, that to prepare yourself the right way and improve your skills, is to be locked out and shunned because of it? I say they need to lock you out of the game! Now, how does that make you feel? I'm just so tired of all the dps hating in this community, I think it's mostly jealousy because people just want to be handed a shiny goodie for doing absolutely nothing to contribute.

I'm not a top end dps'er by any means but I am able to do enough to be a positive contributor to any team I join, which should be the standard for any player in this game, or any other. Neither am I an "elitist". I am always happy to help anyone who asks me, but I won't push my style on anyone. I've helped several new players, just by giving basic advice and have even bought a ship or two for a few of them, so that argument won't hold here. I think that many(including some of the dps'ers) have forgotten that stf's are about team play, not just personal glory and the reward at the end. It should be about 5 people joining together and beating the stuffing out of whatever this game throws at us, just because we can.

On another thread, I've stated that the afk penalty either needs to be changed or removed completely for the nine low level queues(5-60) because it's hard for a new player to compete with fully geared out T6 ships in these instances. Might keep some new players around long enough that they'll actually stick around and learn how to play. But locking dps? No, just no. Let's have your employer lock your pay at a certain level and tell you "Even though you've worked hard and showed competence in your career with us, we just can't have you making more money than Bob over here, who has done absolutely nothing in his time here". Just not how it works, man.
