Like many of our new queues, Counterpoint has introduced some new mechanics to STO which can be completed to varying degrees of success resulting in different amounts of rewards earned from playing this queue. Unfortunately, the time it takes to learn some of these new mechanics was not taken into account when developing the reward schedule for this queue. As such, initial plays with lower levels of completion of the optional objectives result in a lower total payout than was ever intended.
We are currently testing a new reward schedule for this queue that will double the base rewards earned for completing the queue before the completion of any optional objectives is evaluated, from 10 marks to 20 marks. Additionally, we are increasing the reward multipliers for the tracked events that make up some optional objectives in order to incentivize players learning the new mechanics.
Assault on Terok Nor
Similar to Counterpoint, there were some bad assumptions on our part regarding where we expected player performance to be when first playing this new queue and learning its novel mechanics. We are taking similar steps to address the issues.
The base rewards for only completing the queue without completing any of the optional objectives have also been doubled, from 10 marks to 20 marks. Again, all of the optional objectives have all received an increase, with the largest increases in rewards coming to the tiers of rewards achievable for protecting the Override Specialists so they don’t have to take a knee, and completing the lock puzzle in a minimal amount of time.
As will all major rewards updates, we will continue to monitor the situation and make sure that everything has improved in the expected manner and magnitude before we consider the issues resolved.

Thank you very much for looking into the mark rewards of the two new queued PvE mission. Your intended adjustments sound like they will bring them more in line with the other PvE.
You managed to release two extremely good and entertaining maps. Adjusted rewards which reflect the player’s performance are highly appreciated, long term motivating and lead to a long life of those Queues.
Additional info:
There also seem to be a bug in the new ground queue present which prohibits players which dealt with the force field sequence to get the daily mark rewards. Please look into it when you get around.

Well, I can't do this reputation due to the fact that the Undine BZ and now the Badlands BZ are the only two maps in the entire game I get rubberbanding and such a low framerate I get stuck and can't even earn any rewards as soon as the enemy spam and the ally beams start flying around everywhere...

Have you turned off the damage floaters in the options? That was my mistake when i first started doing the battle zones, i had damage floaters on, and having hundreds of them popping up every few seconds was a lag increase for me as well. Since turning them off, no more lag
I believe God created the universe, because he knew we wanted to explore. So, he made us a playground...
Thank you for the suggestion! I will look into that. It's an option I've never considered. I'll report back with my findings .

Edit: Can someone explain what "damage floaters" means and what it affects? Which part of the Options menu is it found in? Thanks!!
Damage floaters are those numbers that pop up while you're shooting at things.
@markhawkman But how do you disable them? I find them entirely uninteresting and if they can get rid of even some of my lag I'll be happy to let them go, but I can't find out where I disable them
Logic is the beginning of wisdom, not the end of it.
Ilithyn, Before the disconnect, I was able to find them in Options > HUD...
The options for the damage floaters are near the top of the list. I turned all of them off... Was going to run thru the BZ again right when the Hamsters went on strike, lol...

I hope to have better results tomorrow then. First go around decent rewards were given. Second time around was a complete let down. I only received tier 1 rewards and got 1 dilithium per area conquered. This was not to scale with the time spent in the Badlands.

@crm14916 Thanks mate, found them . Apparently I need better glasses because I could have sworn I'd already looked there . Well they're switched off now and I hope it improves things, last night was horrible and that was before the server hamsters went on strike. Being in Europe I was in bed by the time that happened and they had apparently decided to pick work back up by the time I got up again.
Edit: Hallelujah it helped, it helped so much. I still have a frame rate drop, but now I can at least participate. Thank you both for this.

I had the framerate drop also, but at least I was able to complete the full BZ... I must have been in the first run after the servers were back online...

Well, I just had another crack at the battlezone, and I stand by what I've said previously; your choices, if you're not a heavily-optimised-for-DPS kemocite-laden alpha-striking death machine, are two. You can follow a bunch of people who are, and get the Tier 1 rewards no matter what you do, or you can strike out by yourself and get absolutely nowhere.
I was off, this time, in a Manticore Heavy Destroyer with a bunch of Mk XII fleet phasers and various bits and goodies, trying to take on a plasma controller point. After more than half an hour - my "Call Delta Allies" button refreshed twice, so I know it was over half an hour - I'd managed to get it down to about 72% health. (My best was 69%, but then it healed itself.) I lost count of how many times I blew up, and eventually I noticed the overall battlezone progress was going backwards. I figured everyone else in the zone was ragequitting, and I also figured they had the right idea. I swear one time the wretched thing managed to kill me before I was even in weapons range.
So... activate abilities, fly in, get blown up. Repeat for thirty minutes, chipping the occasional sliver off the opposition's health bar. Explain to me, someone, how this is meant to be fun?
I'm going to reserve judgement on this battlezone until it quiets down. I had some undine level lag in there today. The threshold for tier 4 reward may still be a little high. They are playing it conservatively hoping not to have to adjust it again. And perhaps to reduce dilithium rewards - which is fairly silly since the max reward isn't so much.
I look at things in the longrun. 6 months from now if I go in there for fun will I be able to solo points? Yes for 2 of 3 - however the capture and hold moves way way too slowly with 1 ship. So the zone in general won't be doable with say half participants.
Initially I liked the zone but I'm cooling on it rapidly. It may be the large number of ships, but something about the visuals sort of gives me a headache.
At the very least it's good for the elite marks if you're planning on buying Terran gear.

This describes the experience I had attempting to solo a control point.
Also, still steamed about getting screwed out of my due credit for helping on a starbase when I am no slouch. I did tweak my build a little after that but if I find I am STILL getting such abysmal results after that, I may have to abandon my plans for this rep. Unfortunate but if I want fun in a BZ, I'll go back to my old standby for whenever I want dilithium and fun, the Undine BZ.
I am not interested in a choice between "beat head on brick wall" and "abandon sci build." I am a sci. Period. I don't care how much anyone wants to try to force me to be about Teh Deepz. (Oh, and while THIS toon has never been parsed, I try not to make too much of it but my other sci main, in a Vesta, is somewhere around the 10K mark post DR, so it's not like I sit around rainbow beaming it at 10 DPS and expecting a reward before anyone tries to suggest that.)

If you are having issues with not getting marks from the Badlands zone (which is occasionally a problem for me as well, especially on an undergeared alt, or my Sci Torpboat), I'd suggest taking advantage of this Mirror Incursion event while it lasts, which gives a respectable amount of Terran Rep marks, which can help. Also, the winter event is coming and the PVP race there is a good source of marks (even if you don't win, you still get tokens for participating no matter where you place).
@gazurtoid, Generally the current marks are not available through the Winter event, only prior ones.

Mark rewards are not the issue. The scaling back of drops for gear and the resulting loss of EC from both the mirror and undine battlezones is, however, a huge issue. Don't see much reason to play sto now that those areas have been EC nerfed. I don't care what people may be getting from the admiralty system. If you dial back the EC in other zones then you just push the basic game another notch towards disfunctional.
Excuse me, but if you're trying to do the reputation, mark rewards are very much the issue. EC comes in from all sorts of sources in a constant trickle; marks are a reward only for a very limited number of activities. And... I keep trying to make this point... it's supposed to be a flippin' game. It's supposed to be something I do for fun. Repeatedly banging my head against the same brick wall, over and over again, is not fun.
I mean, my attitude to the battlezones in general has generally been "do them for as long as it takes to get the number of marks I want, then get out of there", because endless repetitive trench warfare (literally, on Kobali Prime) strikes me as about as far from the definition of "fun" as you can get. Seriously. Go to any First World War photo archive, look up some pictures of Ypres or Passchendaele, tell me how many people you see in them who look like they're enjoying themselves.

As long as it's a ground battlezone it's fun for me but space i normally couldn't care less about.

Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.

He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.

It depends on the BZ. I enjoy the Undine one...and I may an oddball for this but sometimes I DO like going in and taking on the Vaadwaur because they have smarter than normal AI and force me to stay on my toes.
Right now my laptop is still out of commission, but I am definitely lukewarm about the idea of returning to the Mirror BZ unless I find that I will be rewarded fairly for giving it an all out effort even if I am not a tac.

So I just did the Badlands BZ for the first time since the week it came out and I'm having a serious wtf moment here.
Just practically soloed two points, both of them those where you need to capture three generators and then eliminate the half ton mirror ships that spawn to protect the rift. In the first I captured two generators then people arrived to help with the last and the ships, in the second I captured all three and was beginning to chew my way through the Terrans when people swooped in and mopped them up. Rewards for both points? Tier IV.
Something is seriously wrong with how these rewards are handed out if you can all but solo a point and still end up with the lowest tier of rewards.
I think I'll be taking my chances pugging Counterpoint and Assault on Terok Now from now on.
Logic is the beginning of wisdom, not the end of it.
