People often accuse us of censoring information, or trying to "hide the facts."
The problem with the other thread was not that s/he had opened 5 lockboxes and not received a ship. It was the way s/he went about his/her post.
If the thread had read something more along the lines of "Man! I am really frustrated at the low drop rate of ships from the lockboxes! I've opened 5 of them, and gotten no ship!" it would have been totally fine, and left alone.
However, the thread's TITLE was implying that the 40-50 people on this team don't do any "work" and the content of the post was riddled with accusations and curses. That was not an ok way to present the base information.
And note (as I did in my final post there), that I did not remove ANY of the information. I simply removed the swear words and direct insults.
I am a firm advocate that a critical and meaningful point can and should be made in a civil manner. If someone has to swear, drop obscenities, and rely on insults, they're not making a good point. There's a difference between the following:
"The marks from the new battleground are too low. Every battleground before I've been able to get about X marks every hour. Now with this one I get close to a 1/4th of that amount per hour."
Versus...
"F*** THIS *** * CAN'T GET UR **** CRAPTIC"
(please note that the above quote was something that I got to read a couple weeks back. That's it. Just a private message saying that and that alone)
Also, just a handy reminder that posting obscenities is against the forum rules.
"You may not create posts which contain language, comments, references, links, symbols, terms and/or imagery about and/or promote and/or otherwise support, in any manner whether directly or indirectly, obscene, vulgar, inappropriate and/or otherwise objectionable material or, that allude to, contain language, comments, references, links, symbols, terms and/or imagery about and/or promote and/or otherwise support, in any manner whether directly or indirectly, pornography and/or extreme violence or sexual acts."

We don't censor information. We censor attitude.
