Admirality, is there any way to improve ships stats

Help please.

I'm a Tactical Captain, most of my ships are Escorts with a few Cruisers. Under the Admirality system my ships traditionally score high in terms of engineering and tactical. So I added a Level 5 Nova to increase my Sci score.

There is a mission which requires a Sci score of 90. Is there any way to increase ship stats to achieve this score or do I have to pass this mission or purchase a ton of Sci ships to complete the mission?

You pretty much need a good variety of ships from what I've seen of the projects.
Fortunately, the event ships given away do provide that variety, but you had to have been here to get those.

No, but you get 1-time-use ship cards as rewards for some missions.

Also pay attention to bonuses each ship gives when adding other ships, like "+8 SCI for every Fun ship"

Yep...and some ships do other weird things too. For instance, piloting a Vesta alone will give you (depending on which model) a boost in one of the three categories, meaning that you may be able to have a Vesta solo some missions, leaving you a larger number of ships available for other missions. Have another ship accompany the Vesta and you sacrifice that particular bonus. (Not complaining--it actually DOES seem fitting to the Vesta design ethos, as it was meant to be versatile and self-sufficient.)

Also, something I hadn't realized til earlier today.... you don't have to reach all those stats to start/try a mission. You just won't have a 100% chance of success.

(I'd been staring at a variety of V.Rare missions + nasty events on my alts, trying to figure out how I was ever supposed to hit 130/130/130 or 95/180/95, until I figured that out)

But yeah - to do the harder missions, you really need to have a good selection of ships. I'm moderately well off, since I've gotten a number of event & free ships over the years, plus grabbed a few c-store ones with Dil->Zen. So most of my Fed alts have a roster of 17-18, with a bunch of T5/T6. (3x Breen ships, 2x Risian, Kobali cruiser, and Nandi, all reclaimable from the event store, really helps....)

If you have an unused Vet token and haven't already purchased the C-Store unlock(s) you can use it for the Intrepid Refit (Fed)or Kar'Fi Battle Carrier (KDF) for a decent science boost. Also if you have them the C-Store Tier 3 ships bonus' completely negate extra requirements some missions have. For example if a mission adds a +30 science requirement a T3 Nebula/Phalanx will remove that.

Cool thanks. Also, I read there was a dry dock feature allowing you to swap in and out old ships. WHen is that feature going live, I'm hoping it allows a person to store old ships and buy new ones without having to buy additional slots.

every ship has some stats for each specialty so a ship that is tact will have some sci capabilities, from what i have seen you don't need to match or better these recommendations to succeed you just need to get as close as you can to better your chances.
I have found that if you slot the games selection you can often get surprising results, on the ship selection window select the role icon and select eng - sci - tac one at a time.
each will highlight the best ship for the mission from that list, just click assign slot to slot the suggested ship, if there are no ships on the list just move on.
you may need to make your own guess if there are no ships from any category that can be used.
once all 3 ships are chosen you will see your chances of success, they may not be 100% but even if they are only 90% or even 80% it might be worth just taking a chance and hoping for the best.
all the stats shown are just recommendations as far as i can see and you still may succeeds and may even get a crit success with less.

for example i am running a mission where sci req was 115 and i was only able to fill 78 but there is still an 83% chance of success and a 9% chance of a crit.

ok so it possible the mission will fail but nothing ventured....

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

Not sure when it's going live, but that's exactly what it's used for - storing away ships so that you can free up your regular ship slots. (it saves database memory, because it doesn't remember most of the stuff that the normal ship slots do - like how you customized it, it doesn't hold any gear, etc. It keeps the name, and maybe loadouts?)

I think it was said that it doesn't keep the loadouts. Just the name.

The worst part is the admiralty system works better for FEDS as usual! One of my fleet mates has 72 ships to use
