OK, so I'm sure I'm not the only one to have this thought but has there been any real thought or discussion about allowing players to customize their R&D builds? To actually specify the modifiers that will be applied to whatever it is they are creating? Perhaps at the expense of requiring more duty officers, more materials or longer construction times? With a hit-and-miss system of pure random chance, it would be nice to have some degree of control over what is built, within the rules of item mechanics and sensibility. Obviously you're not going to have an uncommon with more than one modifier or anything crazy like that. If someone builds a dmg x3 beam array, they're giving up the ability to apply crit bonuses or accuracy. Just something to think about. I'm sure the devs will never go for it, but it would be nice to see.
