I case people are wondering the reason I made the joke about how the Ferengi only thought he'd lived, the char I was using for this ep was my Lib Borg Terminator.

Kudos again for the how to create an alien species segment. Even if you have some idea of what you're doing it's a great brainstorming checklist.

In a way I made it for myself, cause I felt like I was gonna need it. Hope maybe it's useful for others

I figured out what I was missing when I was talking about 90s sci-fi. Some of the tv shows I was trying to list were actually not made by Nickelodeon. Some were on Disney.

Also Space Cases apparently had a production budget that was tiny for a sci-fi show. Honestly, the set designers did pretty well, but the sets were about as sophisticated as those used for TOS, in a 90s show.

I forgot to throw this one out there too: Starcom. Late 80's/early 90's cartoon (I know, not the best start) but NASA apparently had some hand in the project somewhere. I was watching the one episode I had of it (which involved a pretty well thought out rescue of a station in Jupiter's atmosphere, complete with a small Jovian ecology...which might be worth a Foundry homage) around the same time I was introduced to TNG. I wouldn't say it had anywhere near the same influence but it did help set the tone of what I'd later appreciate in sci-fi.
