You are never going to get a proof. What are they going to do, admit to another situation like the Japori Incident?

No, but if we make enough of a stink, perhaps someone might pipe in?

The proof is already there. The first day it shot up like crazy then suddenly just stopped.

There is absolutely no doubt that progress was altered, that is completely indisputable. The only thing open for debate is rather they did it intentionally, or if it was a bug. Since Cryptic has been completely silent on the issue, that leads most of us to believe that it was the former.

I still don't understand why they're even bothering with this event in the first place if they never wanted us to succeed. It would have been so much better to just run a lock box event or something instead. This whole thing has been absolutely terrible.

So you're saying that you don't have definitive proof that it is a Cryptic/PWE manipulation and not a bug/display error/fluke?

The only thing that would make sense, assuming that it was done purposefully, is that it was an intentionally misleading (or worse, flat out fraudulent) promotion. Which would be pretty crappy, IMO.

We DO have a different EP than the one who did Japori, so who knows, maybe we could get someone to comment. I'll give Steve Ricossa this: he's better at owning mistakes without attacking/blaming the players, than D'Angelo seemed to (though I still think there was something else going on with Japori than JUST the bug, but that's a whole other can of worms).

I believe that's almost word for word what I said.. yes.

If it's a bug though, then it should have been addressed long ago. Cryptics silence on the matter gives the impression that it was a manipulation. Can it be proven? No.

It does seem rather suspicious that Tier 1 was complete after a single day, and yet Tier 2 was nowhere in reach after the whole weekend. I guess we're back to bait & switch at Cryptic again... :/

At the least, we have very poor handling of a major bug that did NOT need to become a PR disaster. Given their past track record it would behoove them to openly address it soon or the forums are really going to catch fire at the end of the week the error/tinkering makes us miss the Tier Ii level.

It doesn't pay to be reactive to this sort of thing instead of proactive, devs! Literally! The cause won't even matter--the effect will be one of closing more wallets if customers feel like they weren't done right by. Truth won't even matter if customers are left to draw their own conclusions and no constructive actions are taken.

The point was to prevent finishing Tier III. Throttle it way back over the heavy play time weekend when there is no monitoring or Developers around. Pick it back up somewhat on Monday when all return. Tier II gets finished but no way Tier III completion will be in sight. Of course all done without a word since (as far as I know) about what went wrong over the weekend.

Pretty much. If it was a legit bug or otherwise, Trendy or someone would have likely piped in and said "our bad, we got it fixed...get back to work!" but the silence was deafening, which leads me to believe that it was throttled intentionally.

And I was wrong, the Community overcame that obstacle and got it to Tier III with ten hours to spare.

Can you really blame them? The devs used to be rather talkative in the forums, and even ingame, interacting with players often. After a while, though, due to their inability to do everything that was asked of them the week it was asked, more and more of them soured to the idea of posting, especially when everything said would get picked over with a fine-toothed comb and would be met with cries of "TRIBBLE lying thieves!" should reality not meet up with expectations. Really, they'd get better reactions from sticking their head in a pool filled with irritable, mutated sea bass.
