Why did the Klingon's in Star Trek 6, bleed out Pepto Bismol? Worf and the other Klingons in TNG & DS9, bled normal red blood.

I'm saying, don't read more into things than you have to. It's just like Klingon and Romulan foreheads and the NX-01 looking more technologically advanced than NCC-1701: The technology of moviemaking just evolved, and any possible in-universe explanation is inevitably going to just raise more questions than it answers.

Or end up being considered so ridiculous by the fans that they sometimes refuse to accept it as canon. (I'm talking about you, 'Augment Virus turning Klingons into Klingon-Human Augment hybrids'...)

^Words that every player should keep in mind, especially whenever there's a problem with the game...

    That too. XD

Seriously, "Trials and Tribble-ations" would've done a lot better to just put Michael Dorn in TOS Klingon makeup and have nobody make any remark on it at all. Roddenberry always said "they were supposed to have ridges the whole time but the budget didn't allow for it".

And canon would, in my opinion, have been better served if Worf's words in that episode had served as the entirety of the explanation - "We do not discuss it with - outsiders." All the exposition needed, I think.

Look at Chang et al. foreheads, they're using experimental drugs to grow back their ridges and they turn the blood pink.
The Klingons from TMP took too much and their ridges grew too much.

Anybody got a better in-universe idea?

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

Too much paw' pounded their ridges flat?
(You know, where the Klingons will slam their foreheads together as part of festivals and such?)

The case that attempting to provide in-universe explanations for effects-based changes to the show just makes things worse.

that would of been a good plot point to write in, much like those beast men from FarScape, whos blood turns dark or clear, maybe the dna would be going through a metamorphosis as the patient began to revert back .....and id better quit before i end up in spock ears and tribble slippers...

Um no, it ties up the pink blood and the Augment stuff in one.

If you want ridiculous explanations for out of universe effects issues that lead to major bollocks from fans try the supposed Klingon-Romulan Alliance to explain away Romulan D7s.

Or you could, you know, have a bit of fun coming up with explanations for the pink blood as is the point of the thread.
