General:
“Midnight” has been changed to a level 60 episode and moved to the Iconian War tab in the mission journal.
Resolved an issue which was occasionally causing players to crash when transferring to another map.
Hestia Class Advanced Escort [T6]: Upgraded this starship's Ensign Tactical seat to Ensign Universal.
The Delta Recruit specific "Show Delta Recruit Details" button will now only display during a Delta Recruit event.
Adjusted the Alpha section nacelles for the Hephaestus, Phoenix and Cerberus Advanced Escorts so that the nacelle fits inside a recessed compartment and is not visible from the side until the Alpha section launches.
I was honestly a little surprised when I saw the change to the Hestia's boff layout in the patch notes. The ship actually looks like it might be worth using now with this added flexibility. What do you think prompted the change?

That, or they figured out the layout would be equal to the Defiant T6 they are probably planning on, and they don't want two ships looking equal like each other.

The Defiant also suffers from the three tac ensign syndrome. I wonder if they will also adjust the Defiant's third ensign into a universal station to make it a little more appealing when that ship gets released. Or if they will just depend on its "iconic" status to sell it.
It's unfortunate that they didn't make this kind of adjustment on the Resolute Advanced Heavy Cruiser. It could have also used that ensign universal.
Personally, I found it baffling when I read the initial stats that this station was fixed and not universal. Making this station a universal adds some much needed flexibility to the layout of the Hestia.
It's a small change, but I believe it has a significant impact. I have never seen them do this before (revise a BoFF layout after a ship release) but I was certainly happy to see it done. No T6 ship should have all fixed BoFF stations.. ever.
I agree it's a minor change, but one that makes a big difference. I find the ship is a little more tempting now. I still won't be picking it up, but when I look at the boff layout I can actually see some good build possibilities now. If I wanted an escort I'd still probably pick up one of the pilot ships since they are superior.
Nevertheless a surprising move, might be wrong here but I think that's the first time something like this happened so casually.
Also now I'm curious how they deal with the defiant's 3-tac-ensign situation. Before today I'd have bet that they pull this off on the T6, now I'm not so sure anymore.
Sales or no sales, the community was heard.

I'm just happy they didn't just slap a hangar on her and call it a day, as per the usual practice.
Ssshhhh don't give them ideas.
Oh yes we can use those excessive tac slots for kemocite and torpedo spread. In all seriousness don't be ignorant, the ship is a lot better off with the ensign universal as you can do a lot more with it post-update. I never said I couldn't come up with a build. I just see a lot more build possibilities with a universal station.
Indeed although it would still be a poor investment compared to the TAC Command Cruiser.
This change puts the Hestia back on the 'sort of interesting' list. I may get it someday when I have stockpile enough free monthly Zen.
Or maybe not, the worthless snowflakes in a bonfire pets should have been addressed. With those as they are, there are so many better ships coming down the pike such as the T6 version of the Patrol Escort (not mentioned yet officially, but it's just a matter of time).
Umm not really...plenty of non-cruiser ships with command slots...the T6 bug...the Xindi Insectoid ship...the T6 Vet ships...
First warp core explosion kills them in my experience so they are just burst damage that I can get more easily on ships without seeing my own burning wreckage.
There was no indication they fixed this, are you now claiming that the pets actually live more than few seconds through a battle?
The first non-cruiser with a command seat that anyone can afford. Hows that?

I agree that the universal ensign is a welcome change, I agree that it increases the build flexibility available to the ship. What I'm getting at is there were good build ideas before that change, like a beam/torpedo hybrid build. Grav well to pin targets, FAW to spread beta 3 to those targets, torp spread 3 with shield-bypassing traits and torpedoes onto those targets, concentrate firepower to give an extra high yield. EPtW3 if you don't want command seating (or even if you do, make CF a lower rank and give yourself EPtW3). Makes use of the third tac ensign station, build has great synergy with the various elements to it complementing each other and you get to pat yourself on the back for a canon build. Don't like beams? Torp and cannon hybrid with CSV instead of FAW. Same build idea only greater spike damage from the DHCs.
Hell, even the DPS guys failed to notice that three tac boff stations meant three rom embassy boffs with SRO. 'ZOMG useless third tactical ensign' indeed.
Yeah...
We changed it because it didn't feel powerful enough and listened to feedback. It's disappointing for that to be met with cynicism. I get being unhappy at bad things that happen, however when there's a positive change that happens that you only have bad things to say about it, perhaps you're only looking for things to complain about.
Eh, I've been playing around with the ship since I got them both (T5 & T6) when they released the Hestia and I kinda' like the fact that I can take command of any part of the separated ship, plus I like the fact that the different vectors have different performance parameters both as pets and as player controlled vectors.
I liked that too when I brought the original T5 version. What I didn't like was how fast they died and how they couldn't keep up with my movements (thus slowing my game play down). This made them both less useful and even counter productive.
I could even live with that if I could rejoin and re-launch them without a cooldown that greatly exceeds their lifespan.
As is, I like the BOFF change. It was helpful. It's on my list when I have ZEN but nothing to spend it on.
But no, I'm not spending money on it.
Now fixed. That was incredibly fast. Thank you, much appreciated.
You should report that both in game and in the bug section of the forum if you haven't yet. I haven't bought the fleet variant yet cause I'm still leveling the ship trait, but I plan on getting the fleet MVAE as soon as I get the trait.
Saying that one won't buy a product because it doesn't met their requirements isn't whining. It's stating a simple fact and informing the seller why they failed in the sale.
Thoughtful people would consider this type of communication a good thing, even if they (as either the seller or buyer) have no intent to make any change in the current offering whatsoever.
I know that the Manticore is not a readily available to all players, but it did arrive months before the Hestia, and it has a LtCmdr engineer/command station.
