Revamp for Season 12: the queues that are MIA

In Season 11, the Cardassian Episodes get their long-expected revamp. And with this, the period of revamping the episodes that were here during the launch of the game is completed.

Now, maybe it could now be a good time to start looking into the queues that are Missing in Action for improvement and to be brought back at a later point?

Looking at stuff like:
- Terradome (it never made it to be a queue, but it was one anyway)
- Starbase 24 Interior
- No Win Scenario

These queues are now gone for years, and especially No-Win Scenario is being missed. I agree that it should be buffed, but at least bring back the original as a normal version of the queue, without accolade titles and only earning 5-10 marks per wave for a more balanced approach. To at least have it here, even if it isn't as good rewarding in titles and marks as it used to be.

Would only make sence to me to bring these back, ofcourse alongside brand new queues and missions like every other season has.

Does it really matter much? Well maybe if they're easy (I never tried NWS to be honest) all people care about is the quick and easy or the current mark STFs...other than that the queues are a ghost town.

No one really does the Voth or Undine ones anymore...why when you have Borg Disconnected which is faster and easier? Doesn't seem to be many doing Hive Onslaught when you can coast through Infected in but a few minutes...

So many things that need a ton of work in this game it's not even funny...

    Gekli Feeding Grounds PvE anyone?

They proved they can actually fix that one with the patrol that forces you to do the exact same thing.

It does to some. The Public queues indeed are a ghost town. But that is because Delta Rising forced people to perform to a certain level of performance, while people in public queues who used to be just acceptable for mission success now became an annoyance rather than a team mate. So people fled to private runs.

And for marks, who even plays queues if you need marks when there are battlezones, adventure zones and patrols all over the place?

The reason I want them back is because they used to be a part of the game that people used to enjoy. And then it got swooped away. So in an essence, the game was downgraded with their removal, and will not be "complete" before these missions are back.

That indeed is another one. Damn, that was fun. Just because the idea was different, and how horrible the controls at that time were that it just became funny. Yes, this one as well.

That one was rather boring to be honest. Gekli moving incredibly slow.
But what is that out a SB24 Internal? Quite fond of ground missions.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

I like to do different things...there is so little end game in this game there is hardly any variety...and now since DR everyone just goes the path of least resistance...

Just saying what is the point when it will likely be another ghost town...this game need fixes more right now (Which will never happen)

Maybe if you find some way to monetize it they will be interested...

I think they should spend time getting more players into the exiting empty queues before bring back MIA ones, that will also be empty. From what I can see people mostly queue for three space stfs: Kitomer, Infected and CE so maybe investigate why people prefer those first.

Because they're the easiest and fastest, that's why. No investigation is required. The best way to resolve this is to re-introduce the hourly event rotations they had a couple of years ago.

There's already an oversaturation of queues as it is, and most of them are entirely vacant because they suck and aren't worth the effort. I'd rather see the queues we have get polished up before even more garbage queues are added to the ever-growing list of garbage queues.

Unless they make Advanced as hard as Old Elite, or fully change the system so that Optionals are still optionals even if failed in Advanced (they said they were changing this, but no clue if they fully converted all Advanced to just reward less on marks if failing Optionals), you're not likely going to see old queues populated.

Pretty sure they changed all optionals in advanced queues to be optional now. Unless you're talking about mandatory things like probes in KSA or not letting the Kang die.

If anything, I'd like to see the return of Borg grounds Elites. They've been gone for a year and I miss them.

Honestly speaking, I never been happy with Cryptic removing content more than they added. But given the state of the queues, for over a year now, why should Cryptic even revamp queues if nobody is going to play them? The queues they added with the last two seasons were empty after two weeks, while the most active was the Crystaline Enity Elite event, where people opted to get their daily marks from there.

So Cryptic needs to return queues back to their Open Zone predecessors and revamp them into dungeon crawls where people do it at their leisure.

They can improve the situation... *clears throat*
"UR/Epic" drops upon completion. How it used to be back in the day, that one super shiny. I'm sure they can tweak it so the current VR drops become UR or Epic depending on team optionals.

    Just my 2 EC.

The Solution for the never run STFs...

In normal ground missions, you get an Away Team of your Boffs. For STFs you are generally an Admiral at that point, so why isn't there an 'Away Team' of ships? Admirals control groups of ships, don't they?

You choose 4 ships you have in your garage and that's your team. Of course, the STFs would have to be revamped to take into account the stupidity of AI vs a team of players (some PUG players excluded from that assumption). :D But at least this would keep that content viable/usable.

If some newbie plays STO and wants to get the tech drops (aka the stuff other than marks you get in Advanced queues) in some older content, they'll never find a public queue for them. If there's a single player w/ 'away team' of ships at least then they have a chance to see that content and get the mats they need.

The Away Team of ships is a lot more a bonus to being an Admiral than the silly Admiralty system (aka Doffing w/ ships) Cryptic has planned.

And of course, ditto for Ground STFs. Let your Boffs go.

I do miss the way that Starbase 24 used to be, I had spent hours there blowing up more Klingon ships than the Iconians ever could have dreamed of. I'd like to see that back.

I've got some bad news on this front. Last I heard, the devs were then planning on moving on to revamp the Breen missions (which in my opinion are pretty much fine)...which makes it seem like that this will be going on into the foreseeable future. Which diminishes the possibility that these missions will make a comeback in any form. They seem to be lumped into the category of "content that was cut to improve the quality of the game."

So while we're on the subject, here's my plea: Devs, please stop redoing missions after the Cardassian revamp. Instead focus on bringing back things like exploration and no win.

I play the queues every day and whereas sure it would be great to have some new ones, however I think the existing ones need weeding out as some are "dead" so to speak, and some could definately do with updating a touch, but there is also another thing, I know of a few people who simply stopped playing the queues just after they started as new players due to the abuse they would take in them from others if they made a mistake.

That's one of the reasons I for the most part don't play them. The devs can set rewards better, make too easy to be fun more challenging, make the impossible parts not as impossible, but they can't reset people. When flaming on the chatbox is the most fun part of a failed queue, the rest are given pause.

Seconded... the only queues that pop are the most reward for the least time invested and effort. ISA is always popping.. never an issue... but other missions, while nothing "wrong" with them, either take longer to complete, fail often, or don't reward as well. Another issue is which rep token drops.

There are a ton (imo fun) missions out there, that noone queues for...

Of your list.... I miss Terradome... but if it comes back, I hope they don't break it up like they had Infected, Cure, and Khito... just my opinion.

I, personally, don't think that 'No Win Scenario' should return.

It was removed due to the ease in which so many were completing it. The BFAW spamming builds of today would make an absolutely mockery of it.

NWS used to require cannons builds.
