Emergency Power to.. wait, what?

I don't know if this is a bug or if I'm just TRIBBLE. I rolled a new character for lulz and got myself up to Tier 2 so far and set my captain up with the Exeter-Class Cruiser. When I went to assign the bridge officer abilities to the powers tray in space, I discovered that, despite being taught and slotted, Emergency Power to Shields I doesn't exist in my list of bridge officer abilities.

-have tried using a different bridge officer
-have tried relogging and changing maps
-have tried resetting abilities, reslotting
-have tried shutting game down and restarting

-have NOT tried other ships, yet.

Have you set the default skill for that officer? Go the stations tab, click on the officer and then click on each skill. If you've trained that officer in other skills they will appear as options below each skill level.

Or... go to the officers skills tab and click on the skill you want to be the default for that officer. You may have to reseat the officer if you do it this way.

I hope that makes sense as I haven't really had enough caffeine yet!

If you rolled a new character, or have even have new BOFFs, make sure that they have actually been promoted. Press U to get to the gear screen, select that BoFF, and click promote under the career options dropdown.
