Did they TRIBBLE up on the scaling of the Pilot Raptors or is this going to be a copy & paste T6 BOP.

? What kind of scaling would they TRIBBLE up? What do the Raptors have to do with the Bird of Prey?

The Pilot Escorts and Raptors and Warbirds are all awesome to fly. Whether you like their looks or scale might be a different matter.

Well, they are on the small side, if you compare them to any other Raptor.

Klingon Pilot raptors don't get battle cloak last I checked.

"He shall be my finest warrior, this generic man who was forced upon me.
Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.
he shall be of iron will and steely sinew.
In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.
He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.

He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."

Not sure how you equate the Pilot Escorts as Birds of Prey.

    - They don't have the ALL Universal BOFF setup
    - They don't pay the -1 BOFF Skill Slot Penalty for having an All Universal BOFF setup
    - They don't have Battle Cloaks, only Standard Cloaks
    - They don't pay the -1 Console Slot Penalty for being a Bird of Prey
    - They don't look like a Bird of Prey B)

    - You forget the -1 Weapon Slot penalty for the incredible turn rate.

Which I believe is now rivaled by the Pilot Raptors. Which is basically the biggest link to the BOPs - incredible manoeuvrability.

If you choose the shortest neck, with the widest wingspan, and the cannons that stick out the longest at the wing tips, you can actually get it to look rather close to BoP.

That happens to be how I set mine up. I'll try and get a screen cap and post it later.

You're right! That does look very close to a BOP! Nicely done! You could definitely fly that as if it were some kind of experimental hybrid BOP/Raptor. All top secret under wraps of course.

Ah thanks for reminding me about the -1 weapon slot thing for 6 total at endgame. When this game launched BOPs had the same 4/3 weapon slot as Escorts. But Feds were bitching about it so Cryptic nerfed it down to 4/2.

I don't remember a time where the Bird of Preys had 4/3 ever. Are you sure that happened? I wasn't here immediately on release of the game, but I was here within the first 4 months or so.

Ooh I'm so tempted now to get the pilot raptors, but

      Ungh

      I want Birds-of-prey, not raptors. :(

Still, that's some good ship costuming.

I also like to see T6 birds of prey, particularly a Hegh'ta.

Aside from not having universal boff posts all around, pilot ships are quite fun.

I bought all the Pilot raptors. I think I'm going to set a ship up like this. I currently don't have a BOP. This will be my experimental BOP hybrid ship. Top secret of course.

Klingon ships without battle cloak feel wrong.

I have given up on a t6 BOP. But I will say that these ships are almost what I wanted anyway. The 5th weapon makes up a bit for not flanking by nature. The pilot moves allow so much cheeze ... you can constantly fling yourself backwards while pedal to the metal is still active keeping good damage on a stationary/slow target. You can get out of many different kinds of attacks with it. The pilot skills have some uses... immunity to kinetic damage can be slick, pattern lambda can be interesting, etc. Then there is the big stuff .. 5 tac consoles, check, cmdr and ltcmdr don't have to be same type (I consider all ships where these are the same to be badly designed and the primary reason BOPS rocked). Pretty much, apart from not flanking, and uni officers, its exactly what I wanted in the t6 bop ... its not 100% but its very, very good.

I regret the matha purchase now. That thing never did perform, lacking surgical, it was always way, way behind and is now a total loss IMHO.
