Has anyone ever mentioned/suggested/asked the devs if we could have "improvements" made to the ships. What I mean you may ask?
I have a ship "Science" from the Dyson event (Tuvok). My question is this:
Has ever been mentioned/asked/suggested to the devs the possibility of upgrading/improving a ship by adding more consoles or more weapons slots?
For example the ship I am talking about has a 4/3 weapon ratio, could be something in the realm of possibilities to buy something in the C-store that could allow me to increase the weapon slots in my ship? Up to a max of 5/5 configuration or 5/4 configuration? we already have ships with 5 for and some with 4 after, but could we update/upgrade/improve certain ships we have become attached to with more weapon slots or more console slots up to a 5/5 for weapons and 4/4 for consoles?

For example: Science ships sacrifice a forward weapon slot, and gain something else like a high Science boff station. If you change one thing, you'd have to remove the other to avoid power creep. I don't think that would work since the science ship would basically become an escort, so why not use an escort in the first place?

I think it's been mentioned before...never heard any response from the Devs on it. (That I know of)
But I think its a cool idea.

I'd have to pass on the Dyson. Two commander boff posts for a total of one, absolutely zero Lt. Com. boffs at all, proton cannons that can't be removed? There's quite a few wrongs that need to be made right before I consider it. Some of your ideas would help to correct a few things, and I'd like to add a Lt. Com. Eng and maybe a Lt. Universal instead of just a Lt. Eng. Unfortunately, as good as our ideas are, that garbage scow that Fed in another thread is trying to pass off as a KDF science carrier is more likely to see the light of day than a modified Dyson.
With my luck it would be a dreadnought. If so I would just keep flying my Nicor. TRIBBLE that.
On that note - I wish I had a T6 Nicor with pilot maneuvers.
Isn't it bad enough that with most using 8 beams +FAW spam the FPS drops faster than an asteroid hitting a planet!? No offence, but this is a blatant attempt at get even more DPS. Should Cryptic canonize hardpoint and arcs, then this idea would merit a look at, until then, no way!

BUT.... I think they'd get better results by making "prototype" ships available for a limited time in game as some "insert tech here" like a Utopia Planitia event. And we could maybe test out new designs they're thinking of fielding on Tribble or hell, maybe the Captains Table (get some life out of that place lol). Might save them some heartache. Upvoted test ships go on to become new in game ships and then they can finalize a skin. Just my 2 EC.
