I have a PC I had custom built about a year and a half ago, maybe two years now. At the time, the Intel i7-3930 3.20 GHz was top of the line and running 6 cores. Thing is, after running a lowbie outside mission (One of the large outside maps) I noticed my frame rate was TRIBBLE. I run this game on full graphics and have great FPS in space, mission maps and even most outside maps, it's the maps that are extra large, full of grass and trees and a lot of greenery that I am dropping frame rate with. So I have a strong feeling the game is not utilizing all six cores. My Video card is an NVidia GeForce GTX 680.
I read some place that the Direct X 11 is giving players hell, so I switched that to Direct X 9ex. I have not been on another map such as the one that drops my frame rate since making that change.
So, I asked this in the tech section and nobody seems to be able to answer, so I'm trying you guys...
Is there a way to check and see how many of your cores STO is using, and is there a way to change that? If so, how?
Thanks in advanced.

There's absolutely no work around (I tried some pretty crazy stuff when first investigating). We just have to wait for cryptic to work their lethargic butts around to a fix.
Notable missions: Apex [AEI], Gemini [SSF], Trident [AEI], Evolution's Smile [SSF], Transcendence
Looking for something new to play? I've started building Foundry missions again in visual novel form!
Ah okay. Yeah, that sounds like me alright. Sounds exactly like me...high vegetation and all. Well, guess I'll just have to deal with it. Thank God those maps are very few. Thanks for the info, duncanidaho11.
