I really did love this episode. It's a shame that most of those before it were just big failfests. (Broken Circle... ugh)
Uneasy Allies, Blood of Ancients, and Time in a Bottle were okay, and arguably Delta Flight was tolerable... but that's only half the season. I miss the Breen arc. >.>
Anyway. Aside from the "how-did-she-know-Sela-was-Romulan" thing, I liked the writing... And refreshingly enough, none of the combat felt like I was just grinding through endless waves of mobs for hours; it all actually made a reasonable amount of sense. My main complaint is that the battle in Earth's orbit didn't have very good background scenery. Broken Circle, which was otherwise an abysmally bad episode, at least managed to get the background layering done slightly better... Hell, the last part of Devil's Choice back in the New Romulus expansion did larger-scale battle in a more memorable way, and without any of the newer tricks! Here there was nothing but an immersion-breaking loose ring of coloured lights and a bunch of enemies popping up...
Now that you mention it, it did kind of look like a Dyson's Sphere (the original satellite version) surrounding Earth instead of an enemy fleet that was engaged in battle. That may have been the point that that was just how many ships they threw at us, but some of that depth of field was lost.
I'd say the endless wave of mobs is more a feature of the patrol missions than normal story episodes.
I'd say Devil's Choice was memorable for how brutal the original version was for some...including me.

But Devil's Choice actually had several very specific tricks to it. 1: the objective is to kill the command ship. The mission won't end until it dies. 2: the other mobs respawn when killed. So you can't simply win via attrition.

You always said that. Even when it was maxed out and insane. If you didn't figure out that Objective 1, then you would be stuck there for an hour getting swarmed by Elachi, which was not fun.

Man I feel like I've been told wrong around here. Having played through it on all three factions there are in fact different dialogue responses at the end for Federation, Klingon, and Romulan. From what L'Miren says to you, to what Kim, Nog, and Paris say, and Sela even has a specific dialogue for Romulans. Nicely done Cryptic. It is greatly appreciated.

This is by far, one of my all time favorite episodes ever created by the STO Team !
I love anything with Time Travel, yet not only was the story actually Good, the gameplay
was , in my opinion, perfect ! There was not too much action, and not too little, though
when I first played through the story, and was on the Iconian home world of the past, I did
get a little fustrated saying out loud "why am i helping the enemy???" so I couldn't figure out
at first, why there were no options to Not help the Iconians, Yet, once one plays through
to the end scene , it finally all makes sense, if we didn't help the Iconian's then they would
not have stopped their advance. So, by the end of the episode, everything made sense
as to why through out the mission , we were helping the enemy. I enjoyed walking around
the Iconian world, that was made beautifully. Also to see the Iconians look different
so long ago, before they got war driven, was neat. This , totally was perfect in my opinion.
Yes it was another long episode, but , if more episodes are created this way, I don't mind.
The voice acting, was the best in this episode as well, especially when Sela gets angery
near the end "you destroyed everything!" , that, to me, was total Classic star trek.
If there had been more action and less story, then it would have not been as good, they
blanced it out perfectly in this episode. I can't say that enough . LOL. I'm really usually
quite critical about the episodes, this one passed my critical test with flying colours.
I hope that they continue to create episodes with the same sort of balance between story
and action. And hopefully they keep bringing in the voices of those whom acted in the
star trek tv shows ! I am especially curious about Sela, it seems that she is actually now
a good guy! That would be interesting to see where her story goes from here.
I'd like to see more of her , and the Voyager crew, Voyager, TNG, and TOS was my
favorite series to watch. The actor's are all Great.
I think one good idea, would be to go back in time to voyager or even the TNG enterprise
for some reason. Where you have to act as one of their crew members for an episode,
that would be great.
anyhow, there's my long post about my thoughts on the season final episode.
I give it 100/10 . Great job STO Team ! Let's give them some credit folks, they being doing
really good lately bringing out all these new episodes , and yes of course they don't got things
perfect , but c'mon, who the heck is perfect? I am usually quite critical of them, but this time
I think they definitely deserve some good praise, they did really well.
I'll start with my opinion on this episode. I loved this. The cherry on top was the denouement, Reconciliation. When Harry Kim said, we get back to being Starfleet Officers again. This was the first mission in a very long time where I felt like a Starfleet Officer.
Unfortunately for those of us who *aren't* Starfleet officers, this part falls a bit flat. It would have been nice to put a bit more effort into the dialog options and so on to work better for us non-Feddie-bear types.
I think it worked out just fine. For Klingons it's all about doing the honorable thing. For Roms it's about realizing that both, the Iconians and Romulans are survivors of great tragedies.
To me there's only one thing that would've made this episode more perfect. If when you beam out after talking to all the captains, Kagran and Sela, that the music that played at the end of Generations when Picard and Riker beam out played as we beamed out. That part of the Generations Overture is the perfect denouement to the mission. youtube.com/watch?v=Gc1yBSUev7g

I appreciate and agree with your love for this episode.
But I hate time travel. So let's obey the Temporal Prime Directive for once and let time unfold as it will. Self Destruct the Krenim Temporal Weapon's Ship and let's get on with the business of moving towards the future, the natural way.

How many are sort of disappointed that there's no alternate ending here, where you actual do the mission your there/then for? Or is there one, and i just picked the wrong response(s)?
P.S. An improvement to the idea is if you can make it so you finish "Midnight" in a way that lets you only face one of the lead Iconians on their bridge.
I have a question about this episode: why, for the love of whatever deity you follow, did you put blocks on skipping the speech? I have 43 alts and I don't want to have to listen to Sela and Kargan constantly say the same damned thing. Why stop us from playing the mission at our own speed?

Me too. I took a moment to pause and appreciate that moment.
