I played this game starting in Beta and in to Pre-Order and then in to Launch. I was here when the ship interiors first came out and stayed until the game went F2P. I just came back about two months ago.
My point is, when I left this game, the Warp Engines in Engineering used to actually have a sound effect that sounded very similar to the ones you heard on TNG. Now, they are dead silent.
Was this something they did intentionally or was this a bug that just never got fixed?

That's a shame. I remember back when Cryptic was running this game before the PW buyout Jack Emmert had talked of big plans for interiors. Of course back then the players were demanding it...I don't see too many people asking for much with interiors these days. It would seem PW brought in a whole new generation of players that just doesn't seem to care about the fluff of the game like the earlier players did.
I personally wish some of those fluff players would come back and let their voices be heard...for me, it was the fluff of the Star Trek Universe that really brought me to this game to begin with.
Don't get me wrong, much of the game has improved a lot and I am loving what they have done with the majority of the game, with the exception of the pay to win lock boxes they have these days, but it seems a lot of the fluff that was talked about in those days have taken a major back seat to make way for other parts of the game.
I must admit though, the expansion of sector space was a much needed and great addition to the fluff aspect of the game, just wish they had done more with ship interiors, personnel customization, interior customization...and maintaining the sound effects throughout the ships.
Oh well, I'm sure my small voice among a huge crowd won't be heard, but glad to know I am not the only one who has noticed.
