I would pug CC more often then. Would be fun, mobbing the floor with all those glassy pug-ships. The exploit-potential is high in this one (proposal).
I'd like more information on this. Off the top of my head, there's no way I can imagine for a Confuse effect to be landed on self or ally, in Space combat. I'm aware of some edge-case shenanigans with "Incite Chaos" on Ground, but no such power exists in Space.

not to derail this conversation from its focus but my experience with incite chaos is no edge case. when i use it the first thing an NPC does is go after one of my boffs and infects them.

Since the tholians dont have a confuse skill (which could lead to a confused ally using scramble sensor and actually scrambling their allies too), I guess he means: Give the tholians scramble sensors.
Or maybe some drones went rouge after the owner warped out, or some other pets using it.

I can't think of a way either unless there's a confuse power that propagates from ship to ship the way the tholian reputation click power or isometric charge work. I haven't run CC since the last patch but I never saw any ill effects from the occasional use of scramble sensors beyond the potential for the aforementioned powers to do a little friendly fire damage to anybody too close to the huge pile of tholians in the gravity well the entity inevitably sits in most of the time.

Frankly, I'm stumped on how it occurred since the NPCs in the CE Event don't use sensor scramble. (I don't recall MU's using SS, but they were not present during that stage of the event). That's the only space power that would allow you to fire on other players.
But given what Hawkman just posted, that could very well be it. Which makes me suspicious this player knew what was happening since he was targeting players.
I heard a rumor that if you use scramble on the CE then zap it with a chain attack it'll chain to an ally.
That's not a rumor, that's a feature of chain attacks - it even says this will happen in the tooltips for chain attacks. Any confused enemy that gets hit with a chain attack like isometric charge will confuse the chain attack because it uses their target data to calculate range or something. So it is possible that someone is just griefing.
