FYI: Directed Energy Modulation is bugged

sohtohsohtoh Member Posts: 620 Arc User
I posted this information in the Gameplay Bug Reports section, but since not many actually go in there unless they have a problem, I decided to post here as well; just so people can be informed.

At some point in time, Directed Energy Modulation has had its functionality cut in half. With DEM III, I used to receive additional damage output around 10% of my total energy weapons damage; it currently grants around 5%. The recent change on August 13th, where DEM was rebuilt for better server performance, may be the cause. Nothing else in my build has changed. This has been confirmed by sov42

I don't know if the change is intentional or not, still awaiting a Dev response (if one would reply that is). Hopefully, this information will be helpful to you.

If true, glad the DEM+FAW spam got what it deserved.

DEM is not exclusive to FAW users, and beams don't benefit from it as much as cannons do.

We'll check this out. Nothing was purposefully changed.

If you can provide additional information, it might help us. Were you seeing any patterns? Less frequent DEM hits, or lower damage DEM hits?

If you use it with Marion, Marion might do a bit more for cannons than for faw (for the laughable 8 sec he is up). But the basic DEM-ability will do more for the faw-user. If there are more than one enemie.

Went through the parses that I had saved from prior and compared them to the recent ones. Currently there are less frequent hits, by about half. Also, I haven't used Marion in a while, so I tried him out and there was no change.

    Noted.
