Screenshot contest!!! - /We've got a Winner!/

repetitiveepicrepetitiveepic Member Posts: 6,549 Arc User
Hey folks,

Sadly the Week of Eternal Partying has come to an end, but it was a good week, and we should take some time to reflect on it.

So, I want to celebrate the good fortune we all got to experience by having a little screenshot contest.

Post screenshots you took of really intense disco ball fun during the special week!

Best screenshot gets a prize - 2x [Fleet Ship Module]!

The idea came to me while I was on ESD earlier and noticed someone who I recognized. This person had posted an awesome screenshot in one of the threads about the Disco Miracle, and i threw a little party in their honor.

But i figure everyone should join the fun!

We've got a Winner!

@coupaholic

I think it really captures the awe-inspiring majesty of the disco miracle!

And not a screenshot but captures the moment perfectly:

    again?

i have nothing against you, because i don't know you in the real life, but here in this forum you act like a troll (sorry to say that), this disco ball fiesta was a nuisance, no need to create a new thread about it. :)

i want more fun in this game, but less disco balls.

That's irrelevant to this thread, which is a screenshot contest. As said earlier, if you don't like it, don't post. We're here to have fun and enjoy what was a really great week for STO. A lot of people had a blast. You didn't, and that's fine, but that doesn't mean you get to troll threads.

We're just here to remember the good times!

it is irrelevant to this game, because during too many days, you have destroy the pleasure to log in in this game. they were good times for you, but not for a lot of players. you should stop to think that this game is yours and that your acts are loved by all the players. when you do your crazy stuff on risa and for a special event, i don't have problems. But this time, these f..... disc balls were everywhere.

as i wrote in an other thread, i have nothing against you or your fleet. i liked the nabreeki's vid made during the last winter event (a very funny vid); but sometimes you don't know when you should stop. that's all :)

I agree. The line must be drawn somewhere when it comes to having fun in video games, and a screenshot contest most definitely crosses that line.

Problem solved, and you don't even need to waste dev time!

But you know what? I guess it doesn't matter now does it? By being allowed to visit their studios Cryptic has pretty much signed off on you and your fleet haven't they? They've said in deed what most of us have suspected for years. They're not going to stop you. They're not going to correct you. You won. After long last, you really, really won. STO is yours and no one is going to do a thing about it. Congratulations.

well, if you don't want to understand what i mean; this is your right after all; but you should understand that we are not all your ennemies, but sometimes, you just don't know when you should stop. this is just sad. I had no nullifiers before your "event", and i was ok with your crazy stuff. but for me this time, you have exceeded the limits (sorry if this sentence is not correct, i do my best to write in english).

i hope, that you would do some crazy stuff during the winter event, but with a limit. :)

oh, yes, you are right about this thread, but in my opinion; you have been a minority to enjoy this "event".

well, enjoy your screenshot thread. :)

Huh? I had absolutely nothing to do with this "event" whatsoever. I'm just some passerby who saw omnipresent disco balls in ESD and thought it was pretty and harmless. As for this thread, since I never bothered to visit Drozana (where most of it apparently happened) this will be a neat way for me to at least get a peek.

Something like this hardly seems like the community-wide oppression and harassment you're making it out to be.

How do you die everywhere? You had to die in a social zone to do this...

It would, if you and your dental trolls would just stop posting.

Don't pretend you don't feed on the drama and tension, it's like blood to a vampire with you and your troll fleet buddies.

No one is buying the idea of you as some benevolent victim that's being unfairly persecuted, so just knock it off.

    You're one to talk.

Anyone who knows the name 'Druk' knows you are a troll at ESD. For the last 3 years I've witnessed you start arguments for hours on end, almost on a daily basis. The chat would be quiet or people will be having a friendly conversation and you pop in saying things like "they're trying to take our guns away" or "Edward Snowden needs to pay for his crimes" (you were actually trying to convince people to hunt him down and kill him in real life). If people don't respond you say it again, or something else of a political or religious nature, until it triggers a negative response. Then you keep people arguing for hours, and I do mean HOURS. I could come back 3 or 4 hours later and you're still there arguing.

And that stunt you pulled on Risa this year during the summer event. You weren't on Risa for a week or so and the place had never been so pleasant. Then one day I log in and people are arguing about gun control AND TRIBBLE marriage, AT THE SAME TIME, and you were right in the middle of BOTH arguments. It's amazing how you managed to pull that off.

I think I'm finally putting the pieces of the puzzle together, Druk.

Ever since that stunt on Risa you have been behaving yourself in the game. It's a nice surprise to go to ESD, see you there, and not one argument about politics or religion.

I think what happened was, you finally got your TRIBBLE handed to you by a moderator or GM after that stunt on Risa and Starfleet Dental didn't take too kindly to Cryptic having the nerve of punishing one of their own. So SFD went to Cryptic with ice cream in an effort to bully them into submission, to get Cryptic off their back, to let Cryptic know who is boss. And, as I pointed out, SFD said on their own forums that Cryptic is "in their back pockets", meaning SFD owns this game.

Ever since that thread where SFD posted about going to Cryptic Studios and given them ice cream, they have stepped up their game on the forums, way more than usual. Go into any thread where players are expressing dissatisfaction about something and antagonizing them. Doing everything in their power to incite anger and negative comments and Cryptic hasn't done TRIBBLE about it, other then simply close a thread that got out of hand.

Cryptic shows favoritism to SFD. And I find it very unethical for them to take a bribe of ice cream in order to "look the other way" when they misbehave and cause problems in the game. If I did some of the things SFD do in the game, I'd get punished for it, but SFD can do whatever the TRIBBLE they want and Cryptic won't enforce the rules of the game equally. SFD seem to be exempt of the rules.

I think you overestimate the power of ice cream. They're getting away with it not because the devs are in their back pockets but because devs are rarely in game anymore and pretty much haven't given a TRIBBLE for a long time. Look at this weekend's extreme lag problems. Not a thing was said about it by any STO staff. The devs' focus is on the next money-maker. What goes on in game is unimportant, all that matters is creating a steady stream of revenue-making lock box ships.

I'm not a fan of mind altering substances so I won't ask to share whatever you've possibly taken.

I don't see why you can't see some players giving the devs a gift of ice cream as anything other than a nice gesture. Seriously, it's just a nice thing to do. Why can't you just be happy for other people instead of behaving in this manner? You're bringing the community down acting like this.

You couldn't be more off base, I suspect.

I believe you'll find it was a job interview that an applicant took several of his fleetmates to after getting permission to bring them.

    I don't think so?

Ah. Well. In any case, it seems to have been a friendly visit that was cleared with developers.

My experience over the years is that they are eager to engage with users under certain circumstances.

And if ice cream works as a bribe, you have significantly more things to worry about than a fleet.

I'll be entirely frank. There are players I've had significant disagreements with about things and I've disagreed with the developers a time or two. But I'd show any of them hospitality and I'd love to meet face to face out of curiosity if nothing else. I've enjoyed the interactions I have had with them. Heretic gave me some nice travel tips when I went to Hungary.

Some of my writing didn't come across the way I intended on PodcastUGC's letter segments and I know I've butted heads a few times. But I think I'd get along very well with Al Rivera.

Forum communication is often a lot like trying to have a conversation on a helicopter. There's a lot of noise. Sometimes you raise your voice over it but it isn't always because you're angry at the other person.
